You're nuts. In this case lives were lost. If it wasn't for guns, those 16 people would still be alive. But, when the police have guns, lives are saved. You can't just let everyone carry guns. They have to be used in it's proper context. Guns are a good thing when the proper people have them. Guns are bad when everyone has them.

It's just like everything else. Knives are good too. But they are only good for cooks in the kitchen. Now just because of that, it doesn't mean everyone has to carry a knife wherever you go, to school, to work, to the bank. Then it's a bad thing.
