TTC drivers caught texting behind the wheel.

what's more interesting is that all the fatalities this year (so far) have involved TTC vehicles.....

They can easily check to see if the drivers were texting, simply by checking the phone log. I bet however that the union prevents the investigators from examing the phones unless a lawyer is present....I can also bet if the drivers were texting or talking, they would take steps to erase all records on the phone but that wouldn't work because there'd be a digital record on their carrier....

Imagine the shit storm if they WERE texting? Holy crap........

The hourly rate of a TTC driver after serving 30 months is 26.58 with a chest full of decent benefits which were fought for by giving up pay during hard negotiations.

I actually pay 4 of my employees more than that Tassume, sorry I meant Tboy.

Would you work most of your life for approximately $52,000.00 a year without added overtime? You think with todays standard of living $52,000.00 a year allows you to live a life of luxury? I know it's not enough for me. I would die earning only 52K a year and even if you add another 30k. in overtime. DUDE I wouldn't want to drive a bus 10 hours a day to make 80k. but that's me. I can see from your hard on for the TTC boys you are envious of their pay and job security. Maybe someone from this board can put in a good word for you!

I called a contractor the other day to do some work on my property. You believe this fucker wanted approximately $35 an hour plus material. These contractors are way over paid in my opinion and usually do a half assed job if I'm not standing over them with a Mike Holmes bible in my hand. You ever watch Mike Holmes dude? Now that's a contractor working for THE PEOPLE and doing RIGHT the first time!

You're complaining about $35 an HOUR? Holme's crew is what, 10 guys? The minimum each is $25 per helper, holmes is $250 an hour, plus materials. The job your contractor would do for $1000.00 Holmes would charge $10,000.00.

Don't believe me? I know people on the crew and I know contractors who work for him.....

Oh, FYI? I worked corporate for $52K a year putting in on average of 80 hrs a week and sometimes over 100...so, blow it out your ass.....

You worked for a corporation as management and you only made 52k a year with all those hours you put in?? Dude I apologize for giving you more credit than you deserve. You are a hammer head and you should really find unionized work, at least the extra hours are at time and a half or even double time sometimes.

Buddy you are wrong on their wage. 52 to 53k a year is their base pay. When an operator makes over that it's called, now try to understand and comprehend what I'm about to tell you, IT's called OVERTIME. That's time and a half if a worker goes over his/hers 40-44 hour work week. It's something you obviously never had the pleasure of partaking in and it's made you a very angry little man.

As for good benefit packages, retirement plans and uniforms paid for um YEAH, that's why some people are enticed to the job rather than opening up or working in a convenience store,or even worse working as a schlep contractor, DOH!

If you read it carefully you will notice that ONLY 58 drivers made the kind of money you are talking about, the rest made about HALF. If you can do simple math without the assistance of a geometry set you will see my point about BASE salary.

The rest goes on to talk about what, tell me what um OVERTIME DOH. OUCH HAMMER HEAD ALERT HAMMER HEAD ALERT!
