Me too. I really hate that I had to put him on ignore and he is the only one so far. I believe it is good to hear differing opinions, even if they are highly offensive. Occasionally they do make a good point or I am forced to examine my own assumptions. I prefer open conversation, but if the conversation turns into a Gish Gallop or an exchange of insults then at that point engaging with such people is a waste of time.

I never ignore anyone for a differing opinion, just for adding too much noise. The exception, who is before your time, I think, is Ursus, and that was because he got to be way too creepy. And yeah, those conversations are nice...but they pretty much never happen on this board, so I settle for dunking on the guys with bad takes (eg stripfan, altaguetta), which is a lot of fun for me precisely because of the reactions you're talking about. It's not as fun with sy barite (and others) because ultimately their rhetorical persona boils down to ignoring much of what you say, zeroing in on irrelevant, tangential minutiae, and then throwing in an insult or two to project intellectual superiority. Yeah, there's a few more. But I sometimes give people second chances. Those 4 that I mentioned are the ones that have gone way overboard and I have lost all patience with them.

Michael is one that I didn't put on ignore yet. Some of his posts just make me laugh. He doesn't argue with me, so he shouldn't get an ignore from me.

Roman was another one I put on ignore from before. He seemed to dispute everything I said. But I noticed he doesn't come here as much as before.

Absolutely good thing... if you're up front about your change of heart and maybe have a little honesty and humility about how completely you previously misjudged Trump.

But no - instead he's just telling everyone who disagrees with his very latest Trump revelations they are complete idiots simply for having the exact same opinion he himself had only last year!

And when you remind him "hey wait a minute, weren't you the guy who was totally for Trump and thought he would be far better for Canada than Trudeau?" instead admitting maybe that wasn't such a great idea after all, he tries to have it both ways by saying he's totally correct now that he hates him, and he was also totally right when he loved him less than a year ago! Snoopy claims nobody could have possibly seen this coming and Trump has completely changed in mere months due to medical reasons.

No he hasn't. This is always who he was, not just for his presidency but for his entire adult life, and tons of people – including many Republicans – were warning about it all along. Personally I just think it's just comical that Snoopy is constantly lecturing everyone how stupid and uneducated they are for not agreeing with him, and meanwhile everything he says is completely intellectually incoherent: Trump is a great leader! No, he's Drunk Trump (who doesn't drink!). No, he's a communist... no I mean he's a dictator... I mean he's Hitler...

And if you say "hey I think you're getting a little carried away here", instead of debating his own ridiculous posts he creates a thread saying that everyone should ignore anyone who disagrees with his daily onslaught of new opinions.

A good thing would be if you want to post strong opinions, be prepared to discuss and defend them, and admit when you're wrong, instead of crying "everyone should ignore anyone who disagrees with me."

It’s true a lot of people get myself and @sy barite mixed up because our user names are almost identical, even though we are completely different people, but this is one of the very few things Snoopy is not confused about…

Snoopy is pissed because even though he posts more than pretty much anyone on this board, he doesn’t like people arguing with him or disputing any of the crazy things he says, as he just admitted in his last post.

I don’t agree with Ursus about a ton of things, but Ursus was completely correct about Obama being against gay marriage in his first term. It’s just a simple fact. Snoopy (who previously posted over and over again about how much he hates gay marriage) replied to Ursus as follows…
