Visions/Psychic Episodes during Massage or Reiki treatments

I was not sure where to put this and I figured rather then post this in a couple spots on the forum this area made the most sense.

Ok, so here is the story, I sometimes have visions and Psychic episodes from time to time. I have had these while experiencing both a wonderful massage and also the first time I had a reiki treatment. The difference was that during the reiki treatment I experienced visions relating to my practitioner's past as far back as her childhood. The massage incident was more centered on feelings outside this world. I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen, which I am guessing is a big yes and what do you do when they do happen. I know with the reiki incident I told my reiki practitioner know exactly what I saw and picked up on and she said I was very accurate but I did not tell my MT because I did not sense it was about her. Anyway, my basic question is if you have this happen how do you deal with it when it occurs? Thank you very much and much love to everyone.

I do not practice reiki but when i was learning Cranio-sacral I had visions/psychic if you want to call it that.
1. it freaked me out when it happened because of what I saw
2. I talked with my instructor whom told I had a gift for this type of work
3. I ignored the vision and said nothing to the person I was working on
4. 4 months later what I saw...happened and it freaked me out enough to where I refuse to ever do any type of cranio-sacral work ever again.
I may "see" stuff doing the work and a have a gift as some ma call but I would rather never know because what I saw to me was a curse to know before hand.

The therapist's posture during such phenomenon is:

"Allow what wants to unfold of it's own accord
Keep one's own agenda out
Seek to understand the meaning of the phenomenon for the client
Have faith in the process " (The Ethics of Caring)

In my experience visions are a gift to be cherished

I agree with Holley.....allow what is to be just be and you should be fine--this is only occuring for the greatest good and it has a purpose which will be revealed when the time is right. The Universe has a way of teaching you things even when least expect it.....Hang in there and allow the Light to guide you.

I think what to do depends entirely on whether one is receiving work or giving it.

When receiving work, I think it's OK to let everything flow, talk about it if you want, whatever -- it's your time.

When giving work, I feel it's very important to remember that I am responsible for the well-being of two people during session - myself and the client. To maintain my own wellbeing, I have to decide whether I am going to accept extrasensory message or not, and if so, I need to ground and protect myself so that if it gets overwhelming, I can disengage. For the client, I have made a blanket decision not to share extrasensory impressions with them unless they ask very specific questions. I will cop to sensing auras, feeling presences, general things like that (again, ONLY if questioned specifically and after hearing THEIR experiences, and only off the table) - but if I get a specific vision, like Shannon did, I completely avoid mentioning those. Not that it happens that often, nor do I think that my personal "rules" are for everyone. But my mantra for my practice is "Bring it back to the body," and that works best for me. Keeps me grounded, doesn't invade the privacy of the client or take me out of my scope of practice.

I will admit that I have these rules partly because I have had some irritating experiences with massage practitioners who felt compelled to "share" psychic experiences they had while working on me, and not only were they totally inaccurate/unrelated to me, it disrupted the flow of the session and made it more about their own psychic grooviness than about caring for me. That doesn't mean it would be inappropriate for a skilled practitioner to include this sharing, with client consent.

While GIVING massage a recurring vision occurs during centering . In my minds eye, I am a few feet off the edge of a waterfall, a vast Niagra , originating from a boundless source, cascading around and though me, thundering to some unfathomable destination.

Words are only a rough approximation of the experience.

First experienced this waterfall motiff, where life pours into life, while working in a delivery room

We seldom discuss "the outer reaches of inner space", other realms of consciousness. Any others have similar experiences while giving?

Must note that visions were not a part of my world view until then. Now, I am embraced, embedded and embody an unfolding Mystery that is transcendent.
I do not tell the client a thing.

it happens 2 me 2. when im doing cranial work, it is very prevelant, i was kind of uncomfortable with it in the begining now i hold the space let what ever needs to happen , happen and know that it is a very sacred space that im entering, and need to treat it as such with honor and grace....

This is cool!
I was a MT for 4yrs and now do home remodeling(it's a long story).
Doing my time as a MT I did have my first and only psychic 'episodes' and it still remains something I think of often. To me the 'episodes' was very very cool! I was rased with a mother that always told me that magic and psychics are real, but didn't really really believe it untell this made me. I was working on the sub-occ's and it was like I was instently in a dream. A flud of light and water, beautiful. It was as if my own memeries and my clinets merged and I had a vision unlike any 'dream' I have ever had. I finished the massage wash my hands and was about to let the clinet leave but decided to tell them about it. Turns out that it was dead on to what they were going through and was a big turning point in their life. I feel that my actions helped and they are doing better from it.

I don't have anything resembling psychic episodes in my massage world. I do see very vivid colors while receiving cranial-sacral work, though (when I don't fall asleep!). It's never caused any lasting problems, so I just let it happen.
