waxing

hi everyone,

i wanted opinions really on waxing, im a student at the moment and have been practicing with other students in the salon. we did a leg and underarm wax (on me) and it was so painful - they were pulling in the wrong direction to make matters worse), anyway, i was thinking about having a bikini wax done but am not sure after friday's lesson! - i would go to a salon not the college for it but was wondering really ive never had it done before and wanted other peoples opinions on the pain. - i know it is supposed to be painful but is it worth it? - will it be anything like any other pain (ie underarms)

I don;t tend to get waxed that often, but yes it is always worth it, and the pain does get less the more you have it done. I have tried having legs, armpits and bikini line waxed and by far the most painufl was armpits. They were smelly for days afterwards, as they were too sore to use deoderant. I usually get my partner to do my legs, but the bikini line is left strictly to the professionals.

i think i will go in for the bikini wax if the armpits hurt more - although the pain WAS excrutiating!!!

- am gettting quite worried now - hope i dont back out at the last minute!!!!!

hiya,

have had lots of waxing done being a very hairy individual!!!

i would say that bikin wax is less painful if hot wax is used and also it should be done by a professional as if it goes wrong you could be wearing skirts for a while!

also try and avoid the time before your period as your skin is likely to be more sensitive.

If not go for it! as amar mentioned it's best to avoid the time before a period it does make a difference believe me!

I think i'm the best waxer in the land ha ha! haven't been a beauty therapist for years but i perform the best bikini wax around the pain obviously depends on your threshold and also on the depth and strength of your hair. As a general rule and i'm sure you know, when having this done, make sure you stretch the skin so there is no tugging - you should help the therapist do this, i always put my hand over the patch of skin i've just taken hair away from (even a slight tap will do) this takes the sting out of it, then i blow on the skin. My waxes are relatively quick & painless and i'm sure a good professional will do the same!

well i did have it done but it wasnt what i expected. yes it hurt like hell but, i thought that a brazillian was everything bar a little line.

am i wrong?

she basically did just a normal bikini wax but a bit thinner but there was still quite a lot left than what i though there would be

Next time YOU call the shots and tell her how high YOU want to go....in any case she should have asked you....& have a quick g&t before you go - the pain will be halved ha ha!
