weirdest or funny client injuries

My client gave me permission to write about this. She was heading up the escalator when halfway up she had forgotten her laptop. (got dropped off at airport by her brother). She started to head back down the stairs and towards the bottom took a resounding leap, landed on the floor. She landed on her feet ,but the jolt through her body,in heels, did a number on her.
needless to say, 50% better after her 1st treatment, no word how she is doing after second. I hope security cameras caught this on tape. :

When we do chair massage, we usually do compressions down the arm as part of the session.

The first time I worked on this lady in her 90's at a new retirement home, she appeared to have a bruise on her forearm, which she assured me was very minor. When I did the compressions, it opened up and bled profusely. I nearly died. She was very blase about the whole thing, and just told me to dab it until it stopped bleeding. She was a faithful weekly client until her heart gave out.

Needless to say, I modified that technique in a hurry when working on seniors

This is an ancient thread, but I am bumping it up. One of my clients had very noticeable muscle tension on his entire left side. I asked him about his daily activities and if he had done anything that would cause one side of his body to become so tense. He said he couldn't think of anything. A few minutes later he let out a laugh, and I asked what was going on. He just remembered that at his birthday party a few days earlier he got into a jumping-on-one-leg contest with a bunch of five-year olds!

I don't know how I missed this thread! These are great!

I had an 88 year old client come in with a sore back. I started to ask all the usual questions when he cut me off, saying, "well, it's either from bowling or from snowmobiling. I did both this weekend."

It was a good thing he cut me off - I wasn't heading in either of those directions with my questions!

hahahaha! that's awesome! especially since we've just enjoyed a marathon-watching of mr. magorium's wonder emporium.

i guess my most humorous currently is being informed while doing chair massage for an acquaintance that he was having issues because he'd spent the day prior doing the annual mucking of the goat stall/barn. keyword being annual....

anybody need some manure for composting???

lol When I told my 91 year old male client how to find my new shop by telling him it was the little brown house with the brand new handicap ramp out front, he winked and said, "Well, I won't be needing that!".
