I think there is going to be a market, either way. I prefer to go to a GP when I need a doctor. I feel that I've had better luck getting them to listen first, and *then* decide what to do about it. When I have gone to a specialist, it seems to be automatically assumed that I need exactly and only what *they* specialize in. Of course - that is their focus, so it's what they look for in bodies! The GP can send me to a specialist, and continue to treat me for other things. If I don't feel the specialist heps, the GP will reassess and send me to another.
BUT, I know there are a lot of people who prefer to decide for themselves what is wrong, and choose to start with the specialist. They have very specific reasons for their preference.
MT's who specialize will see different segments of the population than MT's who prefer to learn about a lot of needs and techniques. There are plenty of stressed out and/or in pain people for all.
Now, to *convince* those people in pain & stressed out that they each need ONE of us.....that is the trick!
