For those wanting to stay there, because for the rest is good price/quality....

Read allready the above! Never, ever leave your creditcard in the safe of the hotel! Also, if you have a lot of cash, be aware. We KNOW how we were robbed, so I am not kidding here! You will notice, that at the reception, many times, there are some Thai guys hanging around. They are watching the customers, what they carry, where they put their wallet, which bag etc.

A lot op people do TREKKING. That means they stay away at least two days.The personel of the hotel, cannot be trusted!!! Like said above, they have ways to open your safe. But if there is money, it is impossible to steal, because you would notice, it is gone. So when they see there are valuables, they will tip those guys. When you come back you are tired, you sleep very profound. Then they will not give you such a nice room by the pool, but remoted. There it is easier, to get in your room while you are sleeping, and take the bag, they saw you put your belongings in, when you came back. In our room, they just took only that bag, and no other!

Don't think I am parranoia. Lock your door the best way you can, we heard from a police-officer, it happens all the time there, but a lot of people do not press charges, because everything is stolen, and then the customer cannot pay his bill of the hotel, so they keep a low profile!

Good Point. But here is a funny thing. When we stayed at the Tamarind it cost about 10,000 for 12 nights.. I spoke to Noi about your message and she told me that when she booked it she said we were on Honeymoon! I did wonder what the chocolate cake and candles in the room was all about!

Seriously I never really know how much the Hotels are we book. The Marriott Riverside seem happy to give us a Junior Suite for 5,000 baht a night and last time they assumed we were on Honeymoon again (although we did not tell them) and gave us three nights free..

The moral.. ask your wonderful Fiance to book your room! In your case the Honeymoon scam will be legitimate!! I have a feeling my next one might be too..
