The BM's that I know of that own* or have owned bars in Thailand are:
Nicke,Jaffaman,Geir,Geespot,Tally,Raw.
Then of course there's Tony70007000...million who managed one for a while.
If you really want to know what's what in Thai bars, these are your goto guys.
Or if you prefer there are loads more Farangs who are not BM's that own bars around town.
*OK, are married to or are in some other significant way associated with the Thai owner of that can't work in etc...:mdr:

I agree with BillK in post 18. Price only bothers a few customers, most want quality..
very cold beer or a proper full shot of alcohol, a clean bar and smiling honest staff.

I think BillK is right about the pricing issue. Speaking for myself it only comes into the equation if ther are loads of bars with the same high service....

Luckily for the rest of us that some people have chosen to ignore the advice about the dangers of owning a bar and jumped right in.
Otherwise where would we go and drink, party and pick up TG’s????

I was shocked at the amount of bars that had no customers. I know October is a quiet month but some of the bars in Soi Eric were empty for most of the evening. The MTB always had customers but maybe thats down to the hard work that Nicke puts in with this site, the webcam and the excellent friendly staff.
I know of a couple of people who have opened one of the new bars in the new complex above Suzy Wongs. I will be interested to see them in March to see how they are doing.
March is probably busier than October so I expect to see a big difference in customer numbers.

There is a slight difference between March and October but not a big difference, March goes into a little lull just before songkhran in April.
