Ive had some clients who dont believe in moisturizing. Im in south florida and ppl are always tan and dry. The minute I place oil they suck it up.

What I do when Im done with the area I do lymph drainage strokes /or compressions over the sheets for two reasons. One move lymph fluid and remove excess oil.

2-3 passes and your good to go.

Another solution is Comfort Oil by Bioline Jato is expensive but the best by far.
A few drops and you can knock out a quadrant and no excess.

We are talking about $80-$100 for a 10 Oz bottle.

I use a lot of long strokes in my Swedish so I tend to use a little more oil than some MTs. And of course, my hot stone massages require a bit more oil also.

Simple solution: I always leve a couple hot towels in the warmer for the client to wipe off with if they feel oily. 8)

I tend to limit my use of products so that there's not enough left when I'm done that there would be a need to wipe anything off. I'll keep a dab of cream on my forearm, or lotion pump on my side as I'd rather add a touch here and there as I go.

Just in case though, when I'm done working an area, I tend to redrape and do some easy compressions through the sheet to finish off an area before transitioning on to other areas.

I have to use only oil, too, due to massive skin allergies. I can't use any creams, gels, or lotions. (I also do a lot of Hot Stone and lymphatic work, and gels/creams/lotions aren't indicated for those modalities anyway )

Since I have to use more oil than most because I do primarily Hot Stone. Most clients are so dehydrated that it just soaks right in, but for the other cases, I just remove excess oil by pulling the sheet back down as though I'm about to re-drape, but then I push the sheet back up the arm (for example) to slowly wipe off the oil in a way that keeps with the flow of massage. That way, the client isn't sitting with oily skin throughout the massage

When giving a massage, I use both cream (fx cream) or jojoba oil. I ask what the client would prefer, and go with that. In either instance I use a hot towel on the back, and wrap the feet each with one and try to remove as much excess lubricant as possible. *sometimes* I leave a hot towel for the client to use for excess at the end of the treatment, but 90% of the time they do not get used.

When recieving I apreciate less lubricant and generally prefer a cream versus oil due to the slime factor. I always feel like the oil is going to soak into my cloths lol! And I always apreciate a warm moist towel to wipe away excess.

I recently recieved a treatment from a friend who at the end of the back used a hot towel on the back, and a hot towel on each of the legs to remove excess. That felt wonderful! I am thinking about adapting my treatment....
