BTW....I cant think of ONE expat that I know who is in a steady relationship with a Thai girl now, that actually sponsored her before moving here.

plenty of non ex-pats that are in steady relationships that did sponsor

our 1st tourist visa they asked Ao and readily accepted all her western union receipts as evidence of support

but they also pushed her on why she didn't have a house or a car and a bunch of material things that i thought were sort of trick questions, IMO
i think they were trying to see if she would brag that she has all that
i think they were trying to suss out how "real" the relationship was and to be honest, if she had those things, i think would be looked at as a negative

Mate, I think you missed my point, mostly.

When I said a relationship, I meant a relationship (romance), not simply sending money. That was kind of my point, who would send money to an Aussie girl they just met (I'm certain few FIFO guys do it here in Perth). However when you've been in a relationship and established trust, sending money is less of an issue as the relationship was not formed around money changing hands. Same same with a girl of any nationality.
