Anyone else here who got Astra Zeneca as the first shot trying to decide what to do for second?
As I understand the factors,
any other factors I've missed?
- blood clot risk for second shot of AZ is much lower than first
- AZ does not offer protection latest "Indian" variant
- Following AZ with Pfizer puts you at risk of heightened adverse effects, i.e. flu like symptoms etc
- Mixing offers the strongest immune response, better than getting two doses of Pfizer
Yes, I got AZ as a first dose - and I will NOT be getting it again. What they are telling you today could change again, and if you had bad side effects from the first dose (I had blurry vision for about a week or so, a sure sign of VITT) why take the risk? For me it will be Pfizer as a second dose, or nothing at all. BTW, I have already had COVID-19 and they are now saying I may have a life long immunity but I'm not taking chances.
