Starting to seem like April 1st was a bit of an April fools day, whole thing is reminding me of Y2K doomsday cultists.

romeotoronto mentioned increased fees. I suspect that changes are still in the pipeline but haven't made it through the bureaucracy just yet. IMO, it would be dereliction of duty if the city permits these establishments to operate and not collect the revenues appropriate to their classification (even if they are, IMO, unreasonable).

In complete agreement. But the prophesied Spa-copalypse failed to arrive, and the industry, despite some minimal adjustments, appears to be operating as usual.

Nothing different in any of the experiences I have had in the last month from March, and expect that to continue.

Seems to me like all EBC spas are back in business now after getting some good news re law enforcement. All the spas at 155, 165 are back in business again including Santosa.

Hey Ambler. Ever since I made my post I have been writing a dm to send, but that will have to wait or I may delete it (or edit it)for now since I have seen your reply. I have also been watching the Leaf game so this has been delayed. We definitely do have (a) similar taste in general. I did not say she is leaving and i do not have any intel on a best before date so I am happy about that. I guess I should not have said "Inevitable" as that may have implied knowing something more specific. I very much appreciate the offer of the rainy day fund.

There is a lot of money changing hands. I paid $30000 income tax for last year my fav. girl got a refund, doesn't pay any taxes gets all the other cheques too and she gambles and bought a Mercedes SUV and significantly more just on last years money. For her 2021 was the best year for profit. She is good but I have had girls rip me for pretty much 5 figures.

You can't get a refund if you pay no taxes.

I’m not sure they ever closed. First week of April I did a drive by and literally saw a guy step out of a spa at 155.

I suspect whatever complaints which caused this to begin with. Also how to license, number of licenses, enforcement, etc. If they close all these places down, it's not like the sex work will stop - it will just go to the neighborhoods. It's better to keep the shops in a commercial/industrial area away from homes and schools.

I don't have time to teach you about the Canadian tax system. I'm pretty familiar with the rules. Tax credits and tax refunds are two different things. A refund is money you get back from taxes you've paid. A tax credit reduces the tax you owe. Neither of which apply if you've paid no tax. Now, if your income reported is low enough that your credits negate any tax owed you simply don't pay. You can't get a refund.

You are confusing this with rebates. Such as the carbon tax rebate, Trillium Grant, etc..... These are legit and as long as you file a tax return you will receive a scheduled payment.
