I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think I'll be keeping my distance from Platinum Club for awhile. Especially after reading the latest article in the Edmonton Sun:

It sounds like the other retailers aren't too enthralled with this studio and will do their best in trying to get rid of it. I can see the same scenerio as what happened with G-Spot, where the other retailers in the strip mall wanted them out and did their best to accomplish it. Things such as parking a van in front of the studio and supposedly writing down licence plates and taking pictures of clients going in and out. I know many guys cherish their privacy and I for one don't need my face plastered all over the internet.
And to think. G-Spot was located in an industrial area, whereas Platinum Club is near a daycare and located on a busy street (124th). What were they thinking?

The article says that the local merchants have a meeting planned for next month so it'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

When I finished reading the thread that "Wolverine" posted in the second link above. I tried so hard to resist writing a response, but I couldn't.

Either I managed to convince at least some of them of an alternate viewpoint or I dug myself into another ongoing and meaningless Topper-style debate.

In any event, I feel much better now.

Still, it is heartening to see that most of the posters on that board are intelligent enough to defend Platinum Club and the MP industry. It seems to be a small number of moral crusaders who are railing against them.

Unfortunately that small number is always the loudest and the squeeky wheel gets the oil. Those that are content or indifferent never or rarely make their voices heard. I believe those of us who use these services need to speak up and loudly in order for things to really change. Due to puritanical views and stereotypes and social stigma most will not or can not do this however. I'm sure the ladies can attest that there are lots of influential people that use their services, lawyers, judges, doctors etc. They would never speak publicly in support due to those considerations. The stigma will never change until we stop lying to ourselves about who we really are and what we really believe. By "we" I mean all of society. I would bet that there are more people that support or are indifferent to these services than are against them.

Just my 2 cents.
