As I said in my post - I have never been in a fight that wasn't in a cage or a ring. I've fought MMA (cage) matches, and also had boxing and kickboxing matches. I understand well the adrenaline dump you get in combat, as well as having the training to know how to control and use it. I've seen lots of street fights and the vast majority of those I've seen flailing mindlessly at each other wouldn't last a minute with someone who's trained in a useful martial art for a couple of years, in the ring or on the street!
Go watch the Thai boxing in Bangla stadium, and think what you'd be able to do against one of those guys, regardless of where the fight took place.
However, I digress. my ability to fight (or not) is not the point, the point is I don't get in fights - the whole idea of 'manning up' and being full of bluster and bravado seems ridiculous to me. The vast majority of the time you could just walk away, so why wouldn't you? win, lose or draw your night is ruined.
also, everyone know's that in Thailand, you fight one you fight them all. Right or wrong nothing will change that, so don't get involved. You guys probably have families - would you want to put them through the trauma of losing you to help out a stranger who probably brought it on themselves - It's more productive (not to mention safer)to run off in the direction of the nearest police station and report what's happening
Peace
