Based on the posted topic for this discussion, how many bar girls (or boys) really try to "fleece" a visitor? Trying their hardest to get some $$$$ is not fleecing, just business. Nothing wrong with that. Guys try to get what they want from girls, and vice versa.
However, "fleece" brings up a whole different connotation. Based on my very limited personal experience, it's pretty rare, but maybe I just haven't had enough experiences here. So, am I in the minority, or majority? How many people have been the victim of "fleecing"?
It's only happened to me two or three times. The first was to pay money ahead, for someone to visit me the following day because of a conflict that night. Of course the following day never happened, and equally of course, I never have gone for that line again. It's always "pay today for today", and nothing more, ever. The second time was when someone offered something for "free", but a bit later on, the "free" part was forgotten. Again, never again. My own bottom line is ALWAYS agree on a price beforehand, and NEVER allow it to be changed unless BOTH parties are in agreement.
I'm sure there are many more ways to be "fleeced". I used to leave a broken cell phone or equivalent laying around in an obscure part of my room. If the phone was untouched, after having a visitor, I had a lot more trust in that visitor. If it mysteriously vanished, I knew enough to never again invite that person. (Just for the record, the broken phone was left alone for two years, and only vanished when I had someone over who I didn't really trust completely to begin with. Obviously, that person was never invited back, and while I thought it might be interesting to confront the person, that hasn't happened yet.)
