I don't disagree about the New York public school system but you can always get your children to take the high school apitude tests (not sure if it's already too late) and transfer to one of the better HS such as Stuyvesant or Bronx Science or Brooklyn Tech. Education is a 2 way street; your kids have to be willing to put in the time to study, too. I went to one of the worst HS in Queens but still got admitted to an Ivy League school.

By the way, is the Panama's education system that much better? I have the feeling that your kids just want the easy way out by being with their friends back in Panama.

There are lots of reasons. I just want to do whats best for my kids and I think especially for my daughter, high school in this country might not be the best for her. This city is full of ghetto kids who dont want or care about an education and Im not sure I want to put her or my son through it.
