Not sure what you've lost, but I still travel, have learnt to cook delicious food and am able to see my close family and friends. Plus I get to work at home and spend quality time with my family. I have more time to see my aging parents, and more time for hobbies

I am with ending mandates btw, don't get me wrong. But I also don't want to waste my time arguing with people I will never meet on an online forum. You're wasting your own time, if you have time for this and prioritize it, then a few things shut down really shouldn't impact you

I lost a lot of money these 2 years. Even with this latest lockdown. Yes, it’s not the best use of time to argue with people online, but it’s nice to vent.

You’d be venting too if you were affected, even a little. I have friends in your position. Could not understand what everyone else was going through.

Well aren't you smug. Empathy is obviously not one of your virtues. People lost their right to choose, lost the right to their beliefs, lost jobs, lost businesses, lost freedom of movement, could not see their aging parents, could not attend funerals or weddings. You were probably in favour of vaccine passports which didn't keep anyone safe. In fact they caused wider spread of coronavirus. Without a medical or scientific reason tax paying Canadian citizens still cannot visit parents in old age homes, go to a restaurant, club, cinema, gym or play organized sports. They cannot visit a medical clinic if they are sick. You think you have lost nothing? What about the extra taxes you pay and your children will pay because of the cost of lockdowns? But as long as you're ok then everything's alright.

Sure I'm more fortunate than those that lost a lot in different ways. But I also am trying to see the positive in all this and don't waste my time putting my time and energy on the negative

All the things you've listed above are true, but this has only affected us for 2 years, imagine someone that has been living that life since birth in a third world country. You don't give a shit about them, only yourself. So many of these people that talk a lot about the pain they have gone through the pandemic would not have any empathy for those that have always suffered. It's the same people type of people that think their freedoms get taken away when we allow immigrants into this country.

So don't tell me that empathy isn't a virtue of mine. I've lived enough of that shit growing up, you learn to adapt and be positive about it.

I think the Parties that run for office should offer a contract to the public with their platform, budgets and timelines. If the party who is voted in does not meet their contractual commitments then it is deemed a breach of contract, they lose the right to govern and another election is called.
