the original post had the spa name plastered all over it!! (the mods edited it) my initial reply was based on that. If its a big deal and something major happens, sure, post it. But routine checks or unrelated issues are complete possibilities. And not everyone waits for 3-4 posts about a place...they see the title on the 1st page and freak out! Believe me, I've had the phone calls where guys are asking stupid questions about why we got busted because a cop car was outside the day before. Its a little ridiculous.

My closest encounter with LE was one time after I finished at the MP, took a shower and waited for the MPA to come back to pay her and see me out. I waited forever for her to come back and heard some commotions out there. She finally came back and told me a cop was there to check the girls' licenses. She told me they come by once in a while and she was not nervous at all. I paid her and she walked me out. When I got to the parking lot, I could see the cop car there and as soon as I started the car, I also saw the cop walked out of the spa with a smirk on his face.

I realise there are more than 4 points, that post was merely dumbed down, given that it was going to gobble up a fair amound of reading time already.

I am pretty sure most here know prostitution is NOT illegal in Canada. The laws set up around it (profiting from the avails of prostitution, solicitation in a public place, operating a common bawdy house, etc...)

You can find most of that stuff in Section 193,195 and 213 of the CC.

My point is that cops go after perceived prostitution issues if it is a concern. They can't bust a couple en flagrante for prostitution because that's legal. Most charges thus revolve around other charges related to the profession - in this case, underage, immigration and yes, sad to say bawdy house. The latter is rare. There have to be frequent complaints by neighbours, etc....

The silver lining? Since all of these charges would result in Summary convictions, there is no fingerprinting (initially). So, yes you'd have a record, but don't worry about being found by your fingerprints for the stereo you ripped off. Hehehe

I know some girls have coppers as regulars, so they are not always looking for a bust. Maybe a shake down though....Dirty bastards...Hopefully, for the sake of their jobs/freedom, they would go AFTER shift and NOT in uniform.

The one issue you left off of your very well thought out post is that of drugs. My LE friends tell me that drugs are one of the driving issues that has eyebrows going up. Not so much that they are used by those working or using a MP, but rather when it comes to LE's attention that drugs are being sold out of a MP. They usually discover these connections though informants or individuals who have been charged and are attempting to barter down their charges.

Oh, and the final issue is of course, politics. MP's are easy targets for self-righteous politicians come election time. If a politican receives a complaint from a constituent(s) then they in turn apply pressure to LE to act. I believe that much of the early attention paid to Blue Pearl started from neighbour complaints. Once LE started taking a hard look at BP the writing was on the wall.

See, and in my opinion this is where even offering HJ ONLY will take a place down. I can't picture LE or a politician saying:

"Fellow Community Members - After exhaustive investigation of MP-X, all we have found is attractive nude women jerking-off horny men for money. However, since all tissue in the MP is being properly recycled and green-binned, we do not feel this violates any community standard. We shall be vigilant and keep investigating. Many of our top officers are willing to work overtime on this issue, and at the first sign of oral-genital contact, we'll let you know."

I think Mrs. Suburban Housewife and Mr. Elect-Me-Now Politician is not going to make a fine distinction between HJ and other acts. I think both would say to the police that EVEN IF HJ IS A GREY AREA, that the police should raid the place - because as it stands now they have the authority to do so, shut it down and then let the court decide, thus giving them what they want.

3Tees, you are taking that to literally....Not every MP sells drugs...those are reasons that go into larger busts, like say the Danforth strip recently. Even for the sake of politics, they arent gonna barrel in on just any and every MP. If one is causing trouble, upsetting the neighbourhood, and partaking in illegal things, it will get checked out, investigated, and shut down.

I think though it's a matter of community standards, and that's all I'm saying. Drugs=busts goes without saying. However, say a local 17-year old school kid goes into an MP, gets an HJ, and begins telling everyone else about it, and a parent finds out? Say another kid runs into a teacher (dumb enough to go) in one? Parents begin to hear about this, and before you know it...

What I really like about what you are telling me is that these scenarios are very rare, and it is both good and reassuring to hear indeed - and that LE seem to have some sort of informal set of rules for what they do. It is also good to know that LE and MP's maintain relationships, even if they get strained at sometimes.
