After few nights of bar hopping in Navi Mumbai and few Chembur bars, writing my thoughts. There is absolutely nothing new which is not already discussed and elaborated by seniors, but as an outsider and infrequent monger, wanted to pen my findings as well !!
Not all girls are bad - there are many posts on the risk and tension associated with role of Jaanu/ Babu relationship and mine is slightly better experience ! Been to Sai Pooja (opposite to Kohinoor Lodge in Shirvane, don't know if it is DB, OB or just ladies bar.. have seen girls dancing in small spaces between tables and also some mild groping, so probably a hybrid) few times and always asked one girl to sit. Not a talkative, dancing, bubbly character, so don't know why she is in DB, but I found her okay to sit beside me. Last Sunday I asked to come in saree (@mk26, don't laugh!) on Tuesday. On Tuesday until 9 I was at Sairat and had to leave to Chembur for dinner. On an impulse asked the cab driver to go to Shirvane, reached there by 9;25 and there she was in an attractive dress. She did not complain that I was late or that she decked up for me, just came and asked if she can sit. Before entering I saw being harassed by few guys in tables to dance and sit with them but she was holding up. Agreed that this one instance can't judge the nature but so far she has not demanded money or my number or even when will you come next !! In the past there were similar occasions in Bhior, Deepika etc where I asked the girl to dress up and did turn up and got earful the next time! So this was a pleasant surprise. As far the bar is concerned, all are 3/4 on 10. Nothing inspiring..
Dress code - I think there must be a dress code that in a DB if a girl cannot dance she must wear saree! If she can dance then it has to be ghagra choli and that too backless! MK mentioned about bang bang song and I don't think dancing in ghagra choli would have been out of place and it would still looked beautiful. On the other hand imagine a girl dancing for choli ke peeche in jeans and tops!! So atleast for few days bars should have dress code !! I have read many posts from unclesam on the choli attire and totally subscribe to it!
Money matters - there must already be around 1000 posts on money is the king and there may be only very few instances where it is otherwise. Went to Sona (called Sunaina now) as I wanted to fulfil my urge of throwing some money and found all girls beautifully dressed in proper attire (hence my previous section on dress code
). I have previously written about muskaan and unclesam had provided her entire history.. found her still alluring although slightly curved up, still nice. Threw some 15K on three girls for few songs. Muskaan was trying hard to catch my eye but ignored her due to previous bad experience. Overall I found the bar quite good. Maybe not happy street range but girls in 5/6 range. dB mongers please do try and provide your review. I was there until bar close time and saw few girls go by auto and some by taxi. Coatwala said auto for Meryl, Turbhe and Vashi girls and taxi for Chembur camp girls! Looks well organised !! Interestingly saw one girl go in a Chauffeur driven Honda accord!! I don't know if she owns it !!
Money matters 2 - went to 2 Chembur dance bars Guruprasad on the main road and Padma palace in shell colony road. Two different experience. In Guruprasad girls danced for complete song even when I gave only 500 and they stuck to one patron at a time..the girl I was giving money to, stuck with me for the night even when I was not giving her any money. Saw similar pattern in other girls as well, maybe they target a Bakra for night and feast on him! I thought they go for variety of bakras in a night !! Anyway, girls are 4/5 on 10 and the dance floor is not very large. Back coats are not pestering type. Just left you on your own. There were only 5-6 girls and not worth a visit.
At Padma palace, we were three groups during the night (I was alone, okay 2 other groups and me!). The first group played 60s and 70s songs and probably gave 40-50k to the guy and girl who were singing. Did I say singing? Sorry, lip syncing.. for crying out loud, these two were not even karaoking but only lip syncing and these guys were garlanding them with down kind of money garland. Asked the girl on what's the deal and said, patha Nahi, eh dono Kabhi Kabhi aate he aur Sab Purana gaana baajathey he.. it seems before they come they ask the girl to get dressed similar to some actress from old Hindi songs! That day she was dressed like Mumtaz, even the hairdo !! You might have heard fetishes, this one tops my list !! The other group played the same song around 10 times and each time threw some 5K per song.. atleast they were throwing it at different girls !! Around closing time, a group of 4 came and all the blackcoats a s waiters turned their attention completely towards them. They might have been important as the owner of the bar accompanied them and stood beside them throughtout. I don't want to stereotype, but based on their dress, one looked like a cop, one like a councillor and the two as builders!! And the owner did look like Shetty!! What followed for the next 1 hour was complete mayhem.. all raunchy songs played and for each song two girls danced and the cycle repeated. For each song these guys threw atleast 20-25K.. the owner was among the girls to dance continuously for the next 1 hour. I wanted to leave but a friendly blackcoat advised to stay and enjoy the show. What a show it was.. The other two groups who spent such large sum were totally ignored after this latest group came.. Money does really matter !!
That was a long post.. until next time, signing off for now.. keep mongering and have fun !!
