I don't have an opinion as to whether it was a correct judgment or not. But I have questions.
I didn't follow the trial, but what little I gleaned from different sources made me wonder how a 2nd degree conviction (intent to kill), could be an outcome. Coverage of the trial, the bits I read, were all one- sided and you'd have to have tried hard to learn anything but the "CHAUVING GUILTY AS HELL" angle of the media. From what I understand, the judge was pretty hard on the defense.
On a side note, for those who have been so vehement in maintaining that Trump committed a crime when he told people to "fight for their government", what to you make of Waters statements asking for more confrontation if judgment had gone the other way? For the record, I don't think Trump was responsible for the attack on the Capitol and I don't think Waters broke any laws either, but I expect many here play both sides, damning Trump for inciting violence but claiming Waters would have had no responsibility for what would have happened if a "not guilty" had come back.
