LOSdelights - letting her pay was a bit weird the first time but not once you forget the illusion of the farang being the knight in shining armour bit - she would certainly not have given me it if she hadn't already paid the family at home, treated herself etc first. she wanted to go out, with me (not to work) so why shouldnt i let her pay if i didnt have the cash at the time and she had an excess? i never trawled bars looking for freebies i certainly payed my way elsewhere but the key with the regulars is not that its free - have had free offers taht wouldnt consider as do not like the person

interestingly i am still friends with those two but my new partner isnt too keen on that so will not be rekindling anything there but have had them contacting me occasionally for advice about farangs and just to see how i am - left them on good terms and continue to have the utmost respect for them. main difference with my partner is that she says she is very lucky as both her parents are dead and she has no children - akin to winning the lottery bizarrely

the flip side of the coin of course is that if you live here most of the bgs/ fls arent interested in you as a customer (or at all) anyway - if they dont already know they soon suss and most openly walk away without a further word - and most 'good' girls wouldnt want you as a boyfriend anyway

i am not against guys going with bg's for free just because the bg thinks they are good looking or a nice person. people tend to forget that bg's are real people and have feelings and want to stay with people they find attractive and appealing

Marc, I agree with you fully that it isn't really very decent for a farang guy to let a girl from a third world country (to use your words) pay for both of you if you go out with her. Even if it is her wish to do so. That is a no no for me.
If it is for small things, like water, fruit or a motorbike taxi and she insists, I could accept, but even then I will make sure she will be compensated financially in a different way. This is also how my gf treated me and v.v.

However, I must say that even on business trips where the company involved would eventually pay for the bill, the lady who took me out, gave me cash prior to go into a restaurant, so a man could pay the bill and not a lady. This happened to me a couple of times. For example in Russia, Singapore and even in Germany for that matter.

people tend to forget we are talking about an 18yr old kid here
i see nothing wrong whatsoever with these young kids going with bg's for free if thats what the bg chooses

when it comes to this subject of "freebies" i think people get disjointed and want to come off like they are looking out for the best interests of the girls but in reality, i think alot of people are trying to make the palying field even by telling a young kid hes no different than an older guy but in reality i know plenty of bg's that happily go with younger guys for free

Sure, if you're strictly talking about bg's and gg's and fl's that hang out in the tourist sections, then it is P4P. But if you go down the paths less travelled, money may not be the first issue. Problem is you have to live there or work it out for a long period of time.

On my first trip to Thailand, I went to visit a friend that owned a restaurant in Kata Beach. I wasn't into the P4P scene THEN, and ended up hooking up with one of his waitstaff. I didn't pay her a dime other than tip her well when I ate there. She initiated things, not me. I was her second "farang". I think she would have been offended if I gave her cash in the AM. It was not unlike hooking up with a girl in the US really. However, in hindsight, I guess she was after something as she ended up marrying an Australian fellow a year later.

So, bottom line is, most girls there are looking for a return on their investment in time there when it comes to Farang....

Of course if your here a lot and get to know girls its not always about money.. Most expats or long stayers will have girls that are GF's or who do not exact money for each time..

Personally I tend to recognise how tough things are for some of these girls and find ways of looking after my special girls..
