How do the girls survive now?

I have seen so many ladies moved abroad with new boyfriends, the greedy BGs usually never go that far.

Many girls are very happy to find a boyfriend and dont need to work, they know they cant expect same amount of money but they prefer a normal life. Some girls are very money orientated and and as some people already have found out, relationships with these girls seldom work out. Too bad, in some cases of these greedy BGs is due to their parents who expect and want to much from their daughters. (They may have bank loans for cars and houses and always want more money for other things)

If the girls demand too much money from their boyfriend, I would guess it is more business than real love/relationship and thats why they easily break up if they dont get enough.

So if anyone of you is looking for a good girlfriend, tell them from beginning you are not rich and cant afford to pay lot of money. This is a good test to see what kind of girl they are, if they love you and if you can afford them.

My own guess is that an average BG make 15-20,000 baht/month including ladydrinks and sponsors. There are always exceptions, some girls can get 30,000+ baht alone from their sponsors each month + what they earn themselves.

I know many girls who dont really care about work, they have a laid back life and just live off the money from their sponsors and just have to see their boyfriend(s) when they are in Thailand, other times they dont really care about the bars/FL scene at all, you may see them occasionally at Banana or Taipan. Their boyfriends often dont know about her other boyfriends she keep at the same time.

She finally left the guy who beat her, but she is saying that a lot of girls are in big problems for the moment! They cannot pay the rent, they dont get any money, much, much more girls then "farangs"! She is a bit desperate, although nOT asking for money (but maybe hoping on my BIIIG heart!

Now Tig can sell herself very well! So if she is having so much problems, then the situation must be very bad!

I made it clear, that I will NOT send her money, because:
She is a big girl and she has to take care of hersef, even if she has to go back
Because then she will rely too much on 'gifts", been though that!
I have a family.

She understand, and I am not that sure she would accept money from me.

But is the situation getting so bad now? What can the girls do? I told her that business is much better in Samui now, maybe she can go there?

Tell me dear Bm's with a bar, how is the situation for these girls now? Can you do something for them, do you care? Yes I know, proberly not easy for you too! I understand!

It is difficult if all this is true, not to support the girls. They will not get any dime from the help overseas! But I think it is impossible to support them all!

It is a pitty that there is no fund for girls working in a bar in time like this. There is nothing to protect them, and that is sad!

I can't blame them for asking a bit more, when there is finally a customer! But of course, the risk of going home without a dime is higher then...

I sent money to a BG from Kamala, she and her friends have lost most of their possessions in the disaster. You can see the rooms where many BG's from Kamala lived, and where unfortunately at least 2 lost their life.

I have no hope and desire to bang her in the future, i just wanted to help her and i hope she shared this money with her friends.

This BG sent me a kind email to say thank you. Shesays that she is now living in Pattaya and works in a hotel. I guess she will go back to the scene soon . I'm afraid that many girls will need to leave Phuket if the tourists don't come back soon.

I know that Tig doesn't spend much on herself, she feels as desperate for her family!

She is a bit weird sometimes! Money she needs, but she hates girls who take profit of farangs, she think that it is give and take!

I never fell in love with this girl, but when somebody is so nice to you as Tig, it is difficult hearing all this.....

Patong is quiet but it is more like low season than dead, the girls survive in low season and why not now? December was pretty good so why all money finished in just 2 weeks? Hard to believe if you ask me.

The situation is Patong is slow but it is far away from dead and Febraury seems to be a lot better.

TinTin...I enjoy reading most of your posts but am a little confused with this one...
Surely you don't expect each Barmanger to have a money pit ready for hard times...Thats why us westerners have savings accounts. :cheers:
I mean yes at the moment its quite easy to see that a lot of people have been affected by the tsunami...but thats why(in exceptional cases), the world gets together and donates money and services to help...
I actually sent some money to a local BG that I met on my last trip...she claimed that she wanted to fly back to BKK to stay with her parents for 2 weeks...therefore after making my decsion to send this money...what she actually does with it is her choice...I just felt good doing it....and realized that she would need it alot more than me at this time.
My point is...you have to adjust your lifestyle to suit the environment you choose to live/work in. :cheergal:
I can't wait to go back again(30 DAYS AWAY).And hopefully the money I spend in the bars/restaurants will help the local people(including the lovely BG's).

Well I did not have 2 girs who were same-same! The one who looked like the biggest w*ore, was the one, who did the most for her money!

Some girls just live from a lie to another, others, deliver for the money!

Again, I only payed Bg's when they delivered! But when they did, I always was a gentleman!

Tsunami or not, I always wondered how some girls survive! Tig is/was quiet popular, but I some girls in November who never attracted customers!

I can imagine with so much less guys looking for the girls, that they DO have problem to get an income! :sad:

It's a difficult time and there is so much sadness shown by the News fooeforum.xxxe that it is very difficult not to feel sorry for the people out there including other countries as well as Thailand.

It is even harder when you know someone who has been affected by what happened, but it is down to you as an individual to know the level of your friendship and whether or not you wish to help out or not. If things really are bad, then your friend would appreciate your help and it is up to you what you do.

I have friends there, they are all safe and have moved either back home to Udon Thani or else gone to work in Bangkok. These ladies are very resourceful and will survive regardless of whether they know someone like you and me or not. But don't let that stop you from helping if you choose to do so.

What I dont understand is why people feel so sorry for Bar Girls ?? They are great people and good fun but the fact of thematter is they are very well off (in Thai terms), very highly paid, and are doing it for an easy life easier than picking rice back in buri ram for 40k per harvest !!

When you consider an unskilled person earns 4 or 5k doing a normal job.. A seamstress earns about the same.. A gov worker may get 10k or so.. So these girls usually get a retainer from the bar (can be as much as 5k or less + accomodation) and any customers..

I am not saying anyones life is a bed of roses but it always strikes me as odd that people will feel so sorry for BG's but not mention 'good' TG's or the many people out of work since the waves or at other times.

I'm gonna get controversial, but what the ****, never stopped me before.

I'm getting a bit tired of all the wasted sympathy for Patong bar girls.

Most of them slept through the whole event, most of them live no where close eough to the beach to be affected.

And yet, the number of emails I hear coming out of Patong, trying to play people's heart strings is frankly sickening. These poor creatures as we well know earn way above the Thai average wage. If there is no money, most of them have options that many others affected do not have. Take a bus to samui (as several girls I know have done), take a bus to Pattaya, go home for a few months, maybe actually visit the child that you leave 11 months a year. They all have homes and villages to go back to. They are poor, but they are not destitue or starving.

Yes, business is down, as it is for a hell of a lot of people who work a lot harder and earn a lot less than they do. You won't find many BG's in Patong who've lost the sum total of their lifes work, and you certainly won't find many who lost their lives, as two members of my extended family did.

I don't hear the bleating and sympathy for the people of Baan Naam Khaeng. If you don't know about it, do your research and realise how people have really suffered through this and forget the bullshit from the bar girls.

...and no a few individual cases do not alter the facts.
