Terry, welcome, I see you're new to the board so I'll caveat my response with that most on this board know me to shoot straight from the hip so my response is less directed as you as to others who might read your post. With that said, I disagree.  If someone was diagnosed with prostate hyperplasia, then the recommendation should come from their doctor for prostate massage and with that know the right people to contact.  Most MTs are not skilled in these techniques and I'd bet illegal for most MTs in many municipalities around the country.  I doubt highly that someone with such a condition is just going to open the phone book and start dialing.  Yes, is it possible it's a legit call but I would suspect that they would address their needs differently than the run-of-the-mill pervert calling on off hours and giving you no background as to such a request.  At that point, it's the blow torch or nothing so far as I'm concerned.  I'm too busy and won't be held captive with concern every time the phone rings.  So I do see your point, but it's far from the norm.  Now, as for your last comment: "And don't get angry or upset if some people call you for sexual services".   Sorry, these people don't rate my professional attitude, they deserve everything they get.  And I'm a believer in news travels fast (even in the pervert sect)...I used to get these calls earlier in my career, but I rarely do now.  Gives you pause, huh.? I'll add that one of the few dubious characters that managed to slip through my filter system and make it onto the table, managed to do so because he said he had a medical condition - he reportedly had poor circulation and needed massage to help with an injection site.  He was getting an injection the next day and needed a massage that day...  He was harmless, but it was still unsettling.I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every time I heard about how "helpful" their last massage therapist was. It's funny how so many "helpful" therapists leave town without telling their clients, I sometimes wonder if they ever actually exist.  I don't get angry or upset when they call, I just find it boring and repetitive.

I am so right there with you. It doesn't even matter the age either. I have one 74yr old client that told me his regular therapist finished him off and said that if would he would come over every week. I said that's ok every other week is fine with me. it just keeps life interesting!!TrishYou know we all could write a book about our clients (change names of course) it would be hilarious.
