New discotheque opens in november on 39/1 Bangla Road, is it next to Tiger complex? Any news?

the new club is above living room 2,i spoke to the manger on my last day in patong.he said it is gonna be a "high class" venue,what that means exactly,,im not sure,,as for the sound and light,,its gonna blow you away,,so ive been told,i know the guy whos installing the lighting,,and they do know theer stuff,,working on some big projects in patong,3 that i know of at present.
looks to me as if they are trying the bangkok style "elite club",,in patong?
thats another matter,,dont you think?
anyway,it will be interesting to see the final concept.
will post my trip report soon,ended up pretty ill whilst in patong,,but thats for another day.
the club is opening early november,so ive heard,hope its not the same builders as juncylon!!!!

Looks like it will be on Soi Boxing.. Probably the space above Angels, Cocktails and Dreams, etc..

Claim to be making a club of it.. Will be worth watching.

Great !! Only 9 months late and I certainly hope its a success - bring more action into Happy Road .. run by Finnish group with a lot of experince in Europe.

There is a large disco / nighclub near completion above C&D's and Angels.. Now another one above living room 2 under contruction ??

Kev, I remember about 3 months ago you took us up to look at this place and although cannot remember now you told me then the monthly lease payment, how with that cost and the obvious massive start up costs can they hope to make this place pay????

Just an aside Junceylon is starting to look good and even looks like it will be on schedule for the opening!!!

I talked to a guy from Finland who read about it in a finnish newspaper and asked me if I knew the location only few says ago. Althought he said back in Finland their clubs used to be expensive.

I hope so - something to look forward to when I come back ..... although I have heard that they intend it being 'up market' - 300 Bhat beers and no FL's - that model so far has not worked in Patong, but if IndoChine and other Singapore Clubs are comming to Jung Ceylon the standard of club life in Patong is about to take a great leap forward - maybe they will ahve to bank roll the place for a year or so to get established but can only be seen as a positive to the advancement of options available for us all.

With the exception of a quick look in Tai Pan, I haven't visited a disco/club in Patong yet:embrassed . This one looks like it has the makings of a decent place.
Hope the high overheads don't kill it before it starts to make money.

I think a "proper" club could work well in Phuket but there are so many "buts" about it... Marketing (they would have to do a HELL of a lot), staff, music, sound, lighting, costs, sales, rent, low season... etc etc etc. High risk i think, plus if the nightclub owner doesn't have a connection to the police then you would only get about 2 - 3 hours of quality sales (11pm - 2am) if that even and with such a big place... Umm Ish don't think so... But then again who am i to say whats possible and whats not...

While it is a great thing for Patong to start having new ideas being developed, I really dont think that Patong is anywhere near supporting bars/night clubs of such high caliber. Maybe during the short high season, but otherwise I doubt it.

I have to say that if they keep the girls out then I think they will be empty.. And 300 baht beers is probably over the pain threashold of many..

I am hopeful for a better club scene but dont think exclusive is the way to go.. How about starting from the basics, first good proper DJ's that can beatmix international recent tunes.. Get a proper sound established, make it a definate dance club and not a meat market and that could well get the girls loving the place to be more fun.. Get the 'fun' aspect right and everything else clicks.

even if they attracted most holidaying falang couples + chicks + the younger more hip musically aware guys on the scene each night......I doubt whether it would pull through financially.......

and how do you police FL's.....sure you can charge an exhorbitant door charge and give the local gals no concesions so they can't afford to get in.....but who is gonna drink the 300bht beers if there isn't the chance to latch onto a gal.........??????

No ones gonna pay 300bht a drink to sit around watching guys dance with themselves..........heck if that's what you are after try soi paradise.....i'm sure its cheaper..
