i guess now all the better qaulity girls will leave all the bars, and go to work\freelance at this new upmarket club to meet all the well dressed falangs,
& all the tshirt & shorts brigade will stay in the beer bars , drinking 80B beers, with the other BG's,

well, the fact it is in between the 2 Millenium buildings might help
i know when i stayed there, i felt there was a big lack of entertainment and i know for sure i would have loved to have a place like that for a nice night out or 2
so i am sure there will be other hotel guests who feel the same way

Besides I'd guess it is cash in hand so no worries about tax, filling in forms etc.... and they run out a line of gigs so as to offset travel prices.

I don't know if locals will help the club, but after seeing how the locals bring their own Black Labels into clubs at Phuket Town and just paying a small corkage fee, i doubt they will want to pay 170 Baht for a beer.

Sounded great until you noted dress code. I only bring sandals with me to LOS.

Beer expensive, but ok if great music and already pissed before you get there.

Still the above points noted - the single most important determining factor is the approach to girls.

If you really want to make headway over the existing mediocrity then urge you to let girls in free and give them comp. drinks. (This is why Seduction and Club Lime have not garnered the success they deserve).

Get the girls and the rest will follow.

(Seduction didnt/wont listen - but Shark understood this and this is why the Thai owners follow this principle and make club success a very hard fought path in Phuket).

I'd hate to be openning a club in Patong at the moment but I wish them well...I have no problem with a dress code that doesn't allow wife bashers (singlets) and thongs/jandals/flip flops.....there is the whole rest of patong for those who can't wear shoes and a shirt out at night

It will probably be after the higher end tourist couples market rather than us...much easier said than done because this is the dinner/walk around/home by midnight crowd..but as others have said it may be a nice place to take a steady gal

Position will make it hard to get a crowd in so the marketing will need to be extensive especially seeing who they see as their customers...I wish it well but it better be careful who it refuses entry to at this point in time....punters are very scarce on the ground

now i don't have the slightest clue what these guys make, but that is why i asked

but i would think that a place like Rain in Vegas( which had 200 people waiting in line to get in when i went there a few months ago and there were probably 2k people inside) has a lot more cash to throw around than a newly built club in Phuket charging 10-12cad to get in the door
maybe take a loss to get the word out??
probably also have to pay for the dj's travel expenses
again, i don't know the business so that is just an assumption but very curious about it

Thanks for the feedback - you're absolutely right, we're not finished yet, probably at about 85%.

There's still a lot more audio equipment to go in. The smoking terrace and bathrooms need finishing (est 7th July).

Last night had a good vibe to it, although the official Fashion Week Party was at Seduction.

As far as prices go, I think beers are as follows in clubs around Patong...

Hollywood - 160 baht
Banana - 200 baht (everything is 200 I believe)
Club Lime 120 baht
Seduction - 160 baht

Sound is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. We will live or die by how we treat our guests.

If we provide great service in a fantastic location, guests will come. And they will pay for the experience.

Last week I went to The Amanpuri Hotel for a meeting. I paid 220 baht ++ for a coffee. I think that's the most I've ever paid for a coffee. But I sat in a comfy chair, watching the sun set through palm trees. The 220 baht didn't pay for a coffee... it paid for an experience.

And do you know what? I'd pay it again.

I'd guess a DJ probably charges something along the lines of $1,000+ for a performance, depending on his reputation and pull, if you're charging 160 baht for a beer, you've only got to sell 350 extra beers to cover the cost, so that's about 100 punters probably - I guess its also can act as a loss leader for other nights as well.

Travel expenses can be shared between the various venues (some Dj's tour Thailand/Asia) or the DJ can just build it into his price. I doubt someone would fly someone into just do a single night in Phuket.
