Yes, the Brewerkz is still going strong; when I lived in SG the code name for it was "O2", which means "2nd office" (it has free wi-fi). The IPA is tremendous and one happy hour jug (a real jug, less than $20 SGD) will give you quite a good buzz.

The bummer with the Brewerkz at Changi Terminal 3 is that it's located after Customs so you need to be flying one of those airlines (SIA and a few others) to access it. The retailers in T3 are really hurting.

Terminal 1 or 2 - I think it's 2 - has a Harry's Bar on the 2nd floor outdoors where the cactus garden is. A great place. Changi has free wireless too.

To get back on topic, I live about 10 minutes walk from the soon-to-be-opened Phuket microbrewery and certainly I'll come back with a review as soon as possible; I don't have high hopes though.

Odd thing is.. Thai Feng Shui says a bar should have a boat facing inwards to bring the money in.. A boat facing out the money is supposed to 'sail away'..

Last night, I did six Libertys.
Tonight, I'm working on the Pale Ale from Stone Brewery in No. County, San Diego. One of the finest breweries on the west coast.

My favorite brew from there? The aptly named, "Arrogant Bastard" Ale. Almost as good a name as Rogue's "Dead Guy" Ale.

It's going to seat 1800 people as well as having VIP boxes on the 2nd floor. Already got some concert dates listed on their site...none that I've ever heard of...YET>>>

I'm jealous my man! I've seen the Arrogant Bastard in the shops at home, never tried it. And the Dead Guy Ale is also a favorite of mine. I'd have to say that the one thing (only thing!) from home I really miss in Thailand is real beer. Singha, Chang, and Tiger just don't cut it bro! There is a German pub at Jungceylon that has some drafts that are quite nice (forget the names), but also quite expensive.

I went to the US 9-10 yrs ago and visited a few brew pubs-they were great. Anyway back to the thread- the Phuket brewery. Drove past last night and table and chairs outside-looked close to opening. Still no publicity- maybe it is going to be more of a Thai thing.

Would hope that being a microbrewery and having a venue that size (appears big), hoping to keep it fairly well patronised that they will be able to maintain a good supply of their product. Delivery of ingredients, especially maintenance/cleanliness of equipment which is essential.

From looking at their website, it seems it will be a very large place with loads of seating (2 floors) and a permanent seforum.xxxe for what seems like a regular entertainment schedule. And the menu page showed these little "designer food" dishes, which leads me to believe the food will be upscale and expensive. The website also had a not yet completed section for selling souvenirs, probably over-priced t-shirts, mugs, and the like.

Somehow methinks it's not gonna be about the beer. Hope I'm wrong...

If they have shuttle service like FantaSea they have a better chance of me going there. If I have to find my own ride odds are less favorable.

Its a huge space.. Having been talking with other expats many of us saying that something like this could be really good as a more mixed Thai / Farang environment.. The phuket town draw.. There are not really many mixed (non P4P) places sadly.

I will probably go there to try it out, but transportation like MassMoose mentioned is going to be costly if no shuttle service.

And transport from Patong to Phuket Town (or thereabouts) is an easy 300 - 400B one-way! Ouch!
