You obviously dont work on cars to make such a statement. Mercedes and BMW cars have a large # of computer controls and accompanying sensors on them. The parts are mostly proprietary and very expensive to replace when they go bad. A new Hyundai, on the other hand, will give you 5 years or so of trouble free driving. At auction, Mercedes and BMW cars go for under $2,000 - $3,000 and sometimes even less than $1,000 because people know they are terribly unreliable as they age. These are $80K, $90K, and 100+K vehicles than sell for less than 5% of their original price because they are so unpleasent to own. And most car people arent impressed when you pull up in a 10 - 15 year old Mercedes - it just shows you are too poor to buy a new Mercedes but still want to impress others with the idea that you own a German luxury car. Even women can tell a new car from an old car and generally arent impressed by used mercedes Benz cars that are 10+ years old.

Mercedes are poor quality vehicles that break down as they age. They dont sell for much at auction because so few people want them. I buy cars at auction often and I go to car auctions every month. I know alot more about the industry than you do.

Same goes for BMW. Very unreliable car brand that has little value once they reach 8 years old. That tells you something about the cars.

And just an fyi, Chrysler products dont go for big money most of the time because they are junkie cars that are poorly built. No one should buy a Chrysler, ever. Jeeps dont hold their value overall, but are 'valuable' for their utility. Still, a very poorly built vehicle. And Jeep is a diverse brand of cars, not just a Wrangler. Even most Jeeps sell for very cheap when used. They are P.O.S. cars.

So how do you rank the top Japanese and Korean cars? I have both Honda and Hyundai but thinking of getting Acura or Subaru.
