I’m “pretty” sure I didn’t see any at the places I’ve been at and I always ask to go to the washroom first to wash what I can. Could be I was so focused I didn’t see it but again with the SPs I’ve been at I absolutely notice. One SP gave me a small cup of it and she had a small cup herself

It just boggles my mind how the governments, both local and federal, keep piling on mandate after mandate yet there seems to be little to no payoff. For every incovenient policy they throw at us, there never is any tradeoff. A mask mandate in the summer of last year was supposedly so effective that it would greatly reduce transmission and perhaps even help us into the fall months. Nope. We locked down anyway in November and while other regions were given a one-month reprieve in the spring, Toronto endured all 8 months of it. The excuse was some theoretical bullshit about how cases and hospitalizations would've been a lot more without the masks. At the peak of the shutdown where we were seeing almost 5,000 cases per day, what did it matter if we prevented another 5K? The hospitals and ICU's were already overwhelmed especially in December and April so saying that it could've been 9,000 or 20,000 or 50,000 was so tone deaf. Perpetuating it as some victory or benefit was just downright embarrassing.

Let's not kid ourselves into believing that we are now reaping the rewards this summer for our compliance to all these draconian measures. It's summer. Of course we'd be open. It's the same song and dance as last year. They throw us a bone in the summer by giving us a semblance of normalcy and then they take it away in the fall. The new normal means that you only get 5 out of 12 months to live with little to no government overreach.

My point is this. The vaccine passport is the new mandate this year that they're peddling as the tool that will get us through the colder months. If we were to take that at face value, it does sound great on paper but it absolutely means nothing if we don't reach the 85% vaccine goal proposed by the advisory table. Sounds simple in concept. In fact, it can be easily done. I wish I could believe that but with the incosistent messaging leading to lengthy lockdowns with brief reopenings in between, who's to say that by the time we hit that threshold, the goalpost won't be moved yet again? Who's to say that they won't tell us that we hit 85% too late and now we need to come up with doses for those 12 and younger to fight off some new variant? I'll have a vax passport. Cool. Now what do I do with it in December if there are no restaurants, sports arenas, bars or any other public indoor space open? Of course, there's a possibility that my worst fears won't happen but the trust in the government and armchair experts just isn't there anymore. How many times has Doug Ford said he wont do something or doesn't want to but ends up caving in anyway? All I know is I will never forgive myself for taking the jab this fall/winter if we lock down and we continue living like we did in 2020 when we were unvaccinated.

that is usually the outcome when vaccines are not distributed quickly, This scale of pandemic we have never experienced before as a humanity, even with Spanish Flu people did not travel by airplanes, transmitting virus from continent to continent within hours.
I hope they find a way to have new vaccine administered to the world population in short time ( a month) then maybe we will get a chance to stop spread and mutation and finally get this virus under control.

We are talking 3rd shots and in the meantime all of Africa has about 10% of people vaccinated. We need to realize this is a global problem on a huge scale and get everyone anywhere in the world who wants to be vaccinated the opportunity. While governments drag their feet Covid has time to keep mutating. Pretty soon the variants we have good protection from will be replaced by a variant or 2 that our vaccines are useless against.

I'm vaccinated but this i don't think is right of the government to push on people, it's essentially forcing you to take the vaccine, which really makes me question what's the true motive behind this. I've never seen any vaccine pushed so hard on the population, even with SARS and other pandemics in the past it's never been like this.. holding a database of vaccinated people and requiring proof to essentially live a normal life is fuckn crazy and is what life in china has been like for the past few years
