I understand all the bar areas are small,but why can we not get draught lagers in the sois.Is it all the barrels/gas etc that get in the way. Maybe its my age but bottled lager tastes crap in comparison to the draught version.I know all the young kids think its trendy to drink their Buds,Stella etc from a bottle,but most punters prefer draught!!!.Well I do anyway :sad:

This is purely my opinion: The reason there is no choice of beer brands or very limited bars who have draught, its simple inertia, most thais think us farangs only think about one thing (look at all the bars they are pretty much the same), if you look at choice everybody is doing the same thing, you dont have a lot of happy hours, specials tonight, theme drinks etc.... one of the problems with draught is more to do with security of your stock as opposed to space

I am trying to make some changes in my bar regarding choice, specials etc but it has to be in very small steps and by stealth or putting ideas into my GF head etc... They simply dont know who we are in a lot of ways. My GF is hopefully coming to Scotland for a couple of months at end of July, she has only seen me binge drinking, wait until she sees a whole city at the weekend, I think a real eye opener for her and of course the sheer choice of drink

Anyway yes I agree draught lager is far superior

Have you tasted guiness in Patong Im sure you have, I dont think it travels well, albeit I havent tried in LEK Murphys about 1 min walk from my house

Drank a fair bit of the black stuff when I lived in Sydney but that was out of the supercharged cans these travel real well.

We poured the cans into long beer glasses and drank them every night, yep fond memories indeed.

If you ever get to pattaya IJ, There's an Irish pub there called Shenanegan's and they do a lovely pint of guinness, The nearest you will get to home and for about 230bt it was well worth it especially after all them barcardi breezers uke:

Guiness is odd stuff.. doesnt handle movment much and needs a publican than lets it settle.. Agree Scuffys is not a great pint but after not having it for a long time it does go down smooth and I get a hankering evey once in a while..

Had some tinnies with the rattle in them recently but they were only ok.. still had that bit of bitterness that a well handled pint doesnt..
