Police Crackdown on Patong Bars

Taxi from the airport? It's been 150 baht for the limo for as long as I can remember. The only change is in the location they stop at, when they try to get you to change hotels.

I think the Taxi is 600 baht nowadays, but the limo is fine for less money.

(How much should the taxi cost? Just curious???)

Anyway to get back on track, the news from down S is not good. We never get visits from MIB, but 2nite we did. The only 2 bars down in Rawai/NH got closed on the dot at 1. And I so rarely get out , so miffed!

What!!!!!! I can't believe all the "advice" you've posted before and now you come up with this.

You think a limo costs less than a taxi!!!...and you've typed limo instead of minibus for the 150baht fare that stops at an office to try and sell you accomodation.

FYI last time I took a Meter Taxi from the airport the meter read 430baht when we got up the hill to my apartment...and I live in south Patong. A limo would have cost 550baht.

It is lucky that things are back to normal... if there was 2am closure now business would really be hurting. I have noticed alot of girls are waiting to go to work to 3 or even 4 am! Normally the hot ones that get a customer in 5 mins.

Eamon2 is close. Saturday, May 24, at 7:36pm. Maybe it was Eamon2 who was standing in the way, watching the tv in the bar off to the right - I had to wait until he moved, so I could rest the camera against the pole at the side of the street and take the photo. If that was him, he was there for two or three minutes before he moved on and I got the photo.

What time would you like to see a photo taken?

If you are going to go on strike why not strike something meaningful for whats best for Patong and its tourism. The rest of Thailand seems to be doing just fine with a 1am - 2am closing that I am assuming is there law. Its just being enforced in Patong now. Just has the Visa rules where a few months back. In the future maybe the prostition laws will get enforced. Who knows TIT.

How about striking for these things.

1. Strike and demand reasonable rents so you don't need to charge your customers anywhere from 80-160 baht for a Chang Beer...

2. Strike and demand that the tuk tuks stop charging 300 baht to go around the block and another 200 if u live on hill. Parking in areas that are not designated to park.

3. How about the jet ski operators who jack around the customers for damaging their 15 year old jet ski. for another 10k-20k.

4. The low life touts who are in front of Soi Sea Dragon ripping off customers entering go go bars.

5. Safe passage to cross streets with out getting run over.

6. All the double pricing and fleecing that is making alot of toursits sour on Patong.

Seems to me this would beneifit all those who come to Patong for a holiday. Maybe many would be going home with much better memories of the place. Your business may even pick up more money in the long run with the tourist having more money in their pockets.

I went down Bangla on Thursday last and found the main bars open til 3am and the side Sois open well after 4am.:intello:

There are not so many tourists now so the place is less congested.:^^:
