S.O.S beer Lao running out

Beer Lao has to be fresh, it dosnt have a long shelf life, I was drinking Beer Lao in BKK last month brewed in early July so it was good, you get the freshist beer in Lao as you would expect and it is lovely.

Add to the list (for that awful Beer Lao) Lek Murphy's in Soi Sansabai and the Offshore Bar on the corner of Nanai and Nanai 2. In Kamala, the Beergarden stocks it. Probably plenty of other places too, but since I don't drink it, I haven't been looking out for it.

It's not surprising that not too many bars stock Singha Light. I'm convinced it is merely watered down heavy stuff. Very weak taste to it. Undrinkable IMO.

Someone told me that Carlsberg has a brewery in Thailand. Is that true? Thats a great beer!

Is the only differnce between Singha and Singha light the strength? Some light beers have "no calories" and they taste shit.

Carlsberg used to be brewed here then the Thai fell out with the farang company and pulled it from market.

IMO beer lao is a good beer. the lao dark could not convince me ( not enough taste for a dark )

i am not sure if the lao suppliers are in any trouble ( crusty should know )
but if everything else fails - supercheap stocks lao!! even the dark!

about light beers: tiger crystal light :arf:
i tried chang light, was ok. but is very rare in bars, so i gave up.

Tried Carlsberg many years ago and hated the stuff, so much so made me wonder how they managed to get the clearance for such false advertising "Probably the best lager in the world"

"Probably" being the biggest understatement of the century....

I'm not a fan of Singha beer as it gives me a headache next day and tastes to chemical to me, the Singha Light tastes nothing like it and infact IS tasteless.

I agree. It was horrible tasting stuff! I think their claim to fame and brief popularity came from the high alcohol content.

Tiger Light is passable, although at 4.1%, it's not far from a full strength beer

Had some Duvel up in Monterrey and loved it but have not been able to find the same variety again anywhere in US.

I wish the bars served Stella or Becks in bottles....imported not made under licence so the Thais get to tinker with it = stuff it up.

Had a great session on Beer Lao on arvo in Bangers and it went down really well, then a year later felt like I was chewing it. Maybe its to do with freshness, or the way its teansported. I hear beers can get sunstruck where the yeast is turned into falmaldahide (spelling???). Guy from a brew shop in Perth told me this.
