So then you need to run from the police station down to Nanai/Karon road junction.

Doesn't this make the new middle road significantly less useful? Or change it to be mainly a patong bypass road?

I was thinking that as the parking bloke took 60 baht off me for parking! Twunt!

People will be stood up to thier ankles in muddy gloop come the rains! Plus they just looked to be plywood shacks with room for about three bar stools.

I am guessing they will have rotted into the ground by this time next year, after a few licks of paint of course!

Nope, hop-a-long Dodger, dropped him off to hobble into the Summer Breeze for Bills Birthday bash then I took his 4x4 to park it up down the end of San Sabai. 60 Baht!

One of the collectors did try to take 60 baht off me for the 'Pig' one day as he said it was bigger than a scooter!!! Bill sorted it out by beating him around the head with a Phuket Gazette and telling him to 'Go away' in American. 20 Baht for a bike.

proof of purchase in Jung needs to be $100baht more to get free parking but an ATM slip in any amount still do the job.

SSS is a privately owned soi, so they can do whatever they like to it...

its one row of bars opposite residence hotel......basically step out at the front of the bar and your on the road.

Its a row.. They really are narrow as they have simply nicked the northern side of the roads parking.. I doubt they are more then 10ft wide and the road is now all blocked up as soon as a car parks (which they now need to do to deliver beer / ice etc) in either direction.. Add in any bikes parked and that bit of Sansabai just became far less useable for vehicles.

I guess the land owner is making a grab for that prime land before the roads become established etc.

No I cant blame the landowners for being greedy self interested etc.. We all are..

I can however blame a system that cant operate simple things such as legal road ownership, public v private property laws, etc etc yet takes so much in the way of taxes and money direct and indirect into the system tho.

plenty of times over the last few weeks I saw nitwit thais double parked in SSS especially by the ice joint and then justa few further metres down on another pickup doing other delivery....result is no chance of anyone getting through even a very experienced bike rider

owner sure is trying to maximise his profits....but he's gonna kill the goose who laid the golden egg if he keeps this up....

There used to be a hawker area at the corner after the Minimart, what happened to it? On some nights nothing open there. Earlier in the year i saw a lot of stalls there.

Of course there are very interested parties in having crappy roads and parking. Just feeds more into the tuk tuks and their benefactors. Full circle.

Tuk tuk rates have increased by 250% since the one way system started.

Could this closure get us to 300%?

Been past the new "bars" in SSS over the past couple of nights. At 11pm a couple of them had one or two farangs in and 3 times as many girls/Thais.

At 1.30am no farangs and 4 or 5 Thais, mostly girls, beckoning all and sundry in with the usual "welcome".

A sure recipe for disaster, small wooden drinking shacks with no atmosphere, run by Thais probably doctoring the drinks. What a fcukup.
