Regardless of whether or not you choose to visit a MP under these circumstances, I would like to commend Kayla and Paul for having the guts and integrity to discuss the problem openly on this board.

There are many other owners who, when faced with anything remotely negative about their businesses, choose to turtle rather than discuss. Those of you owners who choose the turtle approach should take a lesson.

Yes,I agree with "ELMO", ain't nobody reading my I.D.......guess it may get easier to get an appointment with "Cameron" if you want to show your I.D. .....and by the way if you believe that LE WONT copy your number down or confiscate the records, your only fooling yourself.....weather it's legal or illegal, they WILL and DO what they want, when they want....... They can stir some shit up in your life IF they want to.........Chance's are this would only happen AFTER a bust, or if they get a "Hardon" for a certain SPA........

WOW... I just caught this thread.

I guess I'd like to see a post/link by a lawyer explaining just what the bylaw officers and LE can or cannot do with the information. I trust the reputation of Kayla and Paul and their discreetness for there are few other spas that I could say the same for. A little legal information as support could go a long way to ease people's minds. I believe what you are saying Paul & Kayla but I think the sceptics on this board are smelling a bit of a double standard as you are trying to maintain a customer base by quelling our fears.

I don't doubt that this information is available already if someone wants to get it (license plate recordings, IP addresses of our computers, etc.) although I think that's a lot of effort for little payback unless there is a very distinct case to use it in the first place. With IT & HFH's reputation that case won't be made and efforts are better spent on other spas.

This is such unfortunate news. I have been to HFH on numerous occasions and it is by far my fav spa to visit. But, there is absolutely no way that I would show my ID, let alone let it be recorded in any form. One may as well post their name and address here on massageplanet.net as well.

Too bad, I have in recent times been moving more towards the MP side of the hobby but it looks like I'll be staying with SPs after all.

The law and the by-law are two different things. The information collected is only kept up to 90 days at most and it does not go to the cops.. it is for bylaw reasons only. And gather evidence for what? Comparing gathering evidence for an incall that provides full service or an agency to a licensed massage parlor providing a full body massage doesn't make sense. So evidence of what? That you came here and got a massage from a licensed attendant? See what I mean. No one is breaking the law here.. so there is no need or motive to gather evidence.

Since we have been accepting Visa at HFH .. for about two and a half years, the only way that we will accept a visa is with a drivers license number recorded on the slip. The reason for that is because we have had clients come here, receive services and then try to call the credit card companies and decline the payment. Since we have began doing that, we have never had any men complain - they give their drivers no problem.

So far, for the past few days since we have been recording the drivers license number, 99% of the guys don't have a problem with it. Once again, it really comes down to men trusting myself and the girls for discretion, knowing that the records are kept in a safe place and that we wouldn't give that information to anyone outside of the premises.

It's unfortunate and I have no control over it.. I'm sorry

Believe me, I'm not ignorant when it comes to the law and I can assure you, LE won't copy your number down or use it in any way against you. That is called extortion. Getting a warrant to take records which in essence would be considered an invasion of privacy is not as easy as you think. Otherwise, if the law had that much control with charges, etc.. all the unlicensed places would be shut down by now. It has taken them over 3 years to shut down half of them.

And, under a "Safety & Security" mask, the process could be / most likey would be advanced to a simmilar format as the inkeepers act (photocopies of ID, where the operator is responsible for ensuring the authenticity of each record to maintian a save environment for all patrons).

While I do understand [and sympathize] with your motivation for reassuring clientele that giving up a drivers license isn't going to jeopardize ones anonymity, it should be recognized that there certainly are repercussions that *could* arise as a result of having your identity on file at an MP.

That said; there has always been some degree of risk of running into LE if you frequent MP's. If you [for one reason or another] can't tolerate this risk, than you shouldn't be going.

Here's a pretty good general rule to follow if you're seriously concerned about running into repercussions with LE: You're degree of risk increases proportionately by the reputation the MP (which includes the MPA's within the MP) for providing/engaging in services/activities which are beyond a level of tolerance (I'm sure most of you know what that level is). In-other-words: if you're favourite MPA(s) are providing you services that you think are special to you (or a select few), think again. To be bold; if you're gettin' it, LE knows about it, and you need to asses your own risk accordingly.

Here's my final thought on the licence deal...
I'm not 100% sure if I'm ready to hand over my identify to an MP. However, if I am going to other (well known) MP's that offer services beyond the norm (which I never do ;-)), LE probably has my plate number via survalence anyway (however, I always borrow my boss's car ;-)).

that means for every one who turned around at the door, refusing to show their DL or whatever legitimate by law (including those who said no openly here, with their posts still on or already deleted), there were 99 of them who proceeded to a session ? That's interesting stat we are talking about here - or is it just approximations ?

Afterall, just think about it, your ID is in the hand of your MPA(s), whom you have no idea who she is and her background. Is there any accountability from her employer if something went wrong. It is a major trust factor we are talking about here.

Wasn't it that long ago in the paper that the LE were tracking the johns after busting a few escort services b/c they captured the client record?
