I know I'm seriously late to the party on this thread, but can't help but toss my two cents in on Safari. I went there several times during my first visit to LOS during the high season in 2001. It was on fire and absolutely packed with hot girls. There was also quite the sprinkling of ladyboys, some of whom were obvious, but others who were very difficult to detect. It made dance partner selection quite the adventure! Unfortunately, on subsequent visits I found myself quite content to have cast my lot with a cutie far before Safari revved it up. If I hadn't secured my dream date by the time Tai Pan closed that was a sign that I should retreat for the night and prepare for the next night's battle!It was also simply unrealistic to party into the wee hours of the morning at Safari and then expect to have sufficient energy to play a decent round of golf in the sweltering heat at BCCC or PCC.

Alas, it appears that Safari suffered the same fate as my late night mojo! Will always have manic memories of the place! Cheers lads!

Went to the Zoo last night on Sansabai. Not a great deal happening. I noticed 1 or 2 pretty girls but that was as far as it went. Been open for 2 weeks I think so things may improve.

I heard in the grapevine that Soi Lion will be refurbished and will take a similar layout as on Seadragon.

Yeh, and I heard Oct 20 this year....of course if the Soi owners had a bar or 2 empty , they would be saying no such thing....
By now, according to the powers that be, Bangla should be winding down, up toward Banzhaan at least, you see any of that happening?
Realisticaly, Soi Lion can only be a narrow dirveway or lane. Whats the rent on that like?
The Sukhothai Hotel is down, by one of the biggest local landowners on Bangla, to be yet more bars.....I have my assumptions, and they arent anything like what is being 'rumoured' by the same guys hoping to flog land at a premium near the new boxing stadium and surrounds at the rear of or next to JCeylon...

Same here, I used to hop on a overpriced tuk tuk after Tai Pan closed and head to Safari and Underground, to party till the sun comes up. I have such great memories. One time I met a pretty lady who told me that her American boyfriend was abroad and that she want to have some fun. She did'nt want me to pay any drink as she had a credit card from her BF (sugar daddy); just wanted to get laid with me...for free that was. What a time.....
Part of the reason why Safari died is because of the tuk tuk mafia. When you came out in the morning they knew you had to go to Patong. They charged redicolous prices...

Just got text tonight from Gee at Lion Bar (see she is still talking to me3), she finishes on 18th this month and Lion bar closes next month. She does not know where she is going to work, but she is good dancer with tight body. LOL In fact all most of the girls in that bar are good looking and super bodies.

So there will be women desperate next month. LOL
