Decided to visit Lion last night, purely to seek 'the truth' about its closing....
I asked a pretty young lady who happened to be grinding away on my knee, and she went and got the boss.
( This was up the back, opposite "Bonkers".)
He couldnt speak for all, but said he was closing Jan 2 and taking his operations to Tiger Beer Bars.
The place was busy last night as well....

It makes you wonder why one of the most popular areas in Bangla Rd and they closed it. Loved it. Had many a good night even with my wife there. Lol especially owning a apartment at Bangla Suites made it very convenient lol Our favorite was Poppys bar. We are back there at the end of March so will be interested if they are just doing a refurbish or in fact closed for good. So the questions is… if they are closed where will be the equivalent area with a good concentration of hot sexy girls, great music and a happy friendly atmosphere. :erf: March 31 to April 15 Cant wait :jap:

Two of the bars rented space in Tiger, they spoke as if Lion was closed.....

BTW , I passed a brand new Soi being built in Kata, where the road splits to the beach.

One of the girls at Stockholm bar (a personal favourite) mentioned that the bar is relocating to Soi Sansabai but that she would go to Soi Tiger.
Another couple of girls spoke about returning to Issan after the closure.

Update: it was announced tonight on Soi Lion that the soi is closing on the 10th, not the 5th...the girls couldn't contain their excitement.
Who knows, maybe there will be more extensions.

Eamon, I asked at Lion Bar what will happen to the bar after closure...they didn't know but it looks like the ladies will disperse to the other sois.

At the closing night some of the girls on Soi Lion werent sure where they were going to work next.
Some of the staff on that soi had allready relocated (soi eric, soi tiger). Some of the barowners there dont have a new place to relocate.
At least some of the pretty dancers went to soi tiger (saw few of them couple nights back).

and what I heard they are not going to have new bars in that area (soi lion) anymore, the owner is going to do something different..

anyways I'll surely miss Soi Lion, since it was allways my favourite.
