Heard same thing about Soi Lion...won't be missed by me. The few times I went in I always got dragged to a stool by a stunner who promptly disappeared and an ugly one would latch on to me like an octopus.

Supposed to be a shop/store going there but don't know whose.

Got an e mail from somebody who works in Soi Lion and she said she is not sure about her work. Not that I have any idea of what she is on about, but I think it means they may be closing down or maybe it means she has a sponsor. LOL

I think it's inevitable that the whole Bangla road scene will eventually disappear. The land is too valuable for bars and the closeness to the beach makes it ideal for hotels.
Having a lease until 2013 on Soi Eric is no garuantee it will be honoured. They can always hand you back part of the key-money as compensation.

The bar area is going to move further inland eventually and you will all be sighing and looking back on those halcyon days of Soi Bangla, to be known as "the golden era".

i think your concerns are a bit misplaced and you will have as good a time as you would have if you visited last year or next year

I was thinking the same thing, except the part about handing back partial key money. Look what happened in BKK when overnight a place got bulldozed and a fence was quickly erected around it locking out all those that had a place there.

I appreciate opinions but not when mine is regarded as a lower class than others.We are all entitled to one and race,geographical position or membership to a gang shouldn't mean one persons is better than another.

therein lies your answer...at present its pretty much limited to part of one soi running off Bangla (soi Seadragon) the main bar area and then again on the top section of Soi San Sabai...further away there is more again but none of this should bother you or impede your holiday

and just a reminder...you fired the first shot with the "smart assed" comment
