I certainly agree with this portion of your post, however the client is usually the one at risk. I do understand the draw of seeing someone, who makes you feel like a million bucks, exclusively but the risk of emotional involvement is high. I also think - flame away - that the responsibility for this lies primarily with the Client Not the MPA.
The problem IMHO is just like life outside the MP. Some unscrupulous people will take advantage of the vulnerable for their own gain. People like that (read MPA's) will not get the time of day from me. I can't speak from experience. Other than the occasional MP BS, no one has attempted to do this to me. I only know of the bad experiences of others from what is posted on this board.
There is an old expression that goes "There are usually three sides to every story - your side, my side and the truth".
