Life has its ups and downs. I have cheated death twice while I was in the army. I have survived 3 days with no food in the jungle. I don't even have bus fare to immigration office in downtown from Danforth and Pape when I first arrived here 40 plus yrs ago. So this is nothing to me. These are all part of life. If you guys think your life is tough now, pls have a look at those thousands of refugee families with small children in Syrian refugee camps. It's so heart breaking. All innocent victims of civil war. You all should be happy and glad you still have a roof over your head and help is available when need be.Hey BMC, hang in there. Bad things are happening and are coming, but I think some good may come of this too. During the Blitzkrieg communities survived in fellowship together, the rate of mental illness declined, people had a shared purpose. It is a good time to learn the value of community and helping other people, or just simple small kindnesses. Meeting challenges makes you stronger. Surviving deprivation helps you to appreciate simple pleasures (I tried fasting once, I broke after three and a half days, and the ice cream I had was the most delicious food I have ever eaten). All the petty disagreements we have with those in our circle will seem very unimportant, as will past failures and disappointments. Most of us will get through this and I believe we will gain something in the process.
