This is for everyone: all places that claim to have DongGuan service or full dragon service is a scam.
Especially if the taxi driver that takes you to the place honks his car horn and a front desk guy comes over and tells you this place offers such and such.
Just paid 350RMB and learnt this myself tonight, was quite a interesting night. The place forgot the name of the road but its on a main avenue/highway.
The place is called "Taste" bar and club, its on the 4 or 5th floor.
The taxi driver said he knows a place that offered full dragon service and when he approached he honked his car horn a few times. That is your first warning sign.
Second warning sign is the price: RMB350 for 2hrs, with 50RMB for the door man (intro fee). You think you are in for a bargain.
You go in, and get put into a room, its not a sauna/spa setup more like a KTV room, you get show a few girls, you pick one and you are asked to wait for 10min while they make the room available, meanwhile they bring you "complimentary drinks and snacks" and you can chat with the girl you picked...THAT IS BIGGEST WARNING SIGN.
The service girls bringing the drinks and food will ask for most of the above fee for the room (RMB300), that she will see whether the room is ready and you give the RMB50 to the "girl" you picked. After a few minutes the girl will say she will check on the room and leave you by yourself, less than 30sec later 2 meat heads come in and start brow beating you saying you need to pay for the drinks and food and the "time" spent with the girl.
It came to a total of RMB1942 (I have a thing for numbers).
So you wonder what did I do? Well althought I am not that big myself (only 160lbs and 5'7) I wagered that like most chinese run scam establishment they are only working on the assumption that you take it and leave quitely.
I did the exactly opposite, I start arguing loudly and told them to go stick it and bring on the PSB. Plus I had the added protection of a foreign passport and told them so, that any trouble they bring to me I will bring back in spades with the PSB, embassy, news crew etc plus I got zero shame. I then walked out of the KTV room, pass the normal (LOL) bar/nightclub area and into the lift followed by 1 of the meatheads and 1 that seems to be the supervisor for the meatheads. Heated shouting all the way down to the street, and I told them to go fcuk themselves (okay so I got scammed a few dollars, bit like getting fingers catch in door jamb).
So all in all paid around RMB 400 (including taxi fare to the fcuking bastard that took me there). But man what an adrenline rush!
So now kinda figured out the scam: the taxi will honk to indicate that you are a target, the door man will run up to the taxi and start the sale pitch. The rest you can see above. Do not think with the head downstairs, that was my mistake tonight. There were plenty of signs.
PS. Anyone interested in going scam baiting PM me, I am thinking that the door guy deserve a king hit next time he comes running towards a taxi.
