Everywhere local to me is £3.10 - £3.25 a pint iirc.

Then in town they have drink deals in some clubs but then again some places are £3-4 a bottle, then sometimes up to £5 to get into the club then taxi home etc.. can be expensive night out.

the staff just continue to ask for drinks. not the bg's, but the wait staff
even after buying them a couple, they will contimue to ask
you order some drinks and it is always 'one for me, na"

yes, you are correct regarding wages in US

i will say i was in some busy bars in London in March and the bartenders were all pretty decent

oooooh I remember them, I should have filmed them, shown the it to the cleaners in the toilets in the clubs over here in UK, "thats how to keep a toilet clean, and get a tip!" although I think I would be the wrong end of a toilet basin if I did that.

move? Don't get me wrong, I am not keen on being asked... I will buy, generally 1 round for the wait staff a nite and they know that, and tend to leave me alone.. I look at it in much the same way as I do the hand on the window of ya car from a cop, it's part of doing business.. I certainly don't let it get to me.. I don't think the MTB is on it's Pat Malone, when it comes to staff asking for drinks, tho, in truth, there are some bars where i go, where the staff and girls leave you well alone...

Most nites in the MTB I will spend about 2500 Baht.. all up.. Here in OZ, as you know... that's a feed and a few drinks in a pub.. don't forget also here, you have the added money sucker of poker machines in just about every pub ( dunno if you play em tho).. it quickly adds up here, and you don't have the company of some very amusing people that you have in beer bars

Cleanest bogs I've ever seen in Thailand. My first impression was to think they were disabled like the guy who crawls along Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok but it just seems to be their style. Don't use the cotton towels they offer though just in case they contain that horrible red eye bug. I dry my hands after washing by shaking hands with the tiny girl who blocks the traffic.

LOL worked 7 hours but finished at 9pm 5555 work in retail so will do loads at Xmas and other times, started a count down app for when I want to return end of june.... turned it off depressed the sh*t out of me of how long until I can go back, only good thing going for nearly 3 weeks next time.... I am going to be bad, very bad.... I might even stop one night in Tai Pan and think Starfleet how you going to live with yourself in the morning..... as I ask the two bar girls to leave.......

Nom1s bloody hell looks like your just south of the river to me I live next to Romford, which drinks are not bad priced and clubs are a bit like Taipan only the girls are 4 times the size, and just as hard to get them to leave in the morning 55555

I may be wrong , but isn't being a bar tender a career in the US, where as in England it is usually a person who can't get another job, or a student. Hence the terrible service we receive..

$9 or $10 in my local and that's not in the City. Found a few around where you can get $6.50 pints of Guiness most of the time, but costs me $20 each way in cab, so there goes your saving on the beer.

Regarding tipping, was in Kota Kinabalu earlier this year and 3 times had bar staff run after me because I left tips for them when I paid the tab. When I said was for them, they looked genuinely shocked that someone would tip them for service.

Funniest sight I heard about was in the Garden Hotel in Leederville in the Summer this year that involved my GF and her ordering a beer.
I was meeting her there and she went in and ordered a middy (half pint) of Hoegarden as she had never had it before. The guy came back and says to her $9.50. After the initial shock of the price, promptly told him to stick it up his *** at which point he got very upset, so she just walked off laughing at him, much to the amusement of everyone standing at the bar.
When we go out together she cannot get her head around buying two pints and hardly ever getting change out of $20.00, the shock is all to much for her. So the thought of a pint of Hoegarden being $19.00 a pint just sent her over the edge 555555
