Getting back on track, to MTB, this is the EXACT scenario that i was confronted with, not from 1 of the BG's mind, a bit higher up the ladder.
Playing cards on the other side of the bar, with a well known bm, not spoken 2 words, until hi .... can you buy me a drink. x 5
wasn't impressed at all.

this on top of calling my parents kineow a few days before and complaining that they only left 20bt tip (1 drink only) and 'asking for more'.

Not many people tip here in England. I work the odd shift at my mates bar - we serve food too but hardly get any tips!

marc - I think tipping is more popular over your way. We have a Canadian guy who is living here at the moment and is always tipping the bar staff on a regular basis. Must be a normal thing to do over there.

As for pay - yeah I have heard bar work in Oz pays $20 approx an hour. Where I work the pay has not gone up in 6 years! Virtually minimum wage - not too fussed as I get a few free beers from the landlord and he gives me cash in hand. You get taxed highly on a second job here in the UK so grateful for that.
