Scruffy Murphy is going.

I was told Scruffy's was going last October, and Molly's has five years left on the lease and Molly's aren't renewing it.

Also noticed in Scruffies the other night they installed two very low ceiling fans each side of the entrance and it was particularly warm in there - aircon wasn't at its normal freezing temperature., saving pennies.

Scruffys is going down hill a bit. I went in at Xmas and the toilet was all backed up and had not been cleaned for 24 hours with no water so it was piled high and stank

shame really as it was a really good pub

Finnergans Wake is on the beach Road just up past Sawadirak Road going towards what used to be the Rock City Bar on the Beach

lots fo the staff are friends with the staff at Mollys and Scruffys.......same kind of place but not quite as good as its a bit quiet and the Band are all Thai but worth having a look

Irish Times is nice as well but a bit of a walk and out of the way

Cheers Drew, must have rode past it 1000's of times and never even noticed it!! as you said a bit off the beaten track as is IT

I think in current economic times with people not having the same spending power, the Irish pubs will suffer as people are being more thrifty with their cash so 60B beers and soup from a cart is a better option than 250B pints of the black stuff and over inflated farang food...

think the air con helps and the bands

I like the staff as well they are a good crowd but you may be right as they were very quiet at Xmas and New Year; food is still good and worth a bite and the band are always good fun in both places

I had dinner at Scruffies last night with a couple of my friends staying at the hotel. Really great food and huge portions. Maybe a bit pricey, but worth it I think. I'm still full from that feed. 5555
