serious clubbing advice needed!!

Unfortunately, the mods on TV have had a sense of humour bypass operation.

I started a thread asking advice on who I should fire; the maid, or, the gardener as I had caught them having a shag in the maid's room.

Got some great posts before a mod deleted it than sent me a wrist-slapping PM.

Quite a lot of info in your post out of date 11, Hollywood new night club in Dragon) is very succesful, packed nearly every night, low or high season. However ignoring tyhis your overall advice is spot on.

Take others advices, come here, live for at least 6 months, get all questions answered, research the market to find your own niche, it will then be low season so much better deals to be had.

take a look at the bangkok club scene i am no expert but the q bar was full and a great night but a small place , went to boss which had a few thais in great dancers and the place was empty...still had good night though....i personally would love a beer bar/ condo but have listened to the bm's and will rent when time is right....listen to them mate they know what they are talking about.

Cos it opened PRE high season and it was packed everytime I went in, suppose could depend when you feel high season commenced this year. didn't open long before, hasn't had a full season to tell but looking at other nightclubs in Patong over the same period it has consistently got bigger crowds nightly, so its doing something right and shows it can be done.

I wouldn't do it but thee again who am I too talk, I'm linking myself to the tourist trade just when it is reducing by 50%!!!doh?

Was thinking about the same. I think the guy lost something like 20m Baht in short time. When he opened his club they could not build stairs to the first floor. Suddenly when it became Dragon... woner: a brand new staircase in the middle of the entrance.
Remember the Canadian of Sharks. They closed his disco because some indecent games were going on... the same games I have seen played in Club Meds every day after lunch. After... Sharks became a Thai owned disco... not a lot of changes (investment) inside.
You can only get out of Thailand as a millionaire if you entered as a billionaire.
If I had the amount of money like Mr P, I would not start a business in Thailand, just live there without working/investing.

some good advise given here....bit worried that you are prepared to put up your life savings and your not sure what business model to use....a fool and his money soon parted as the saying goes....if you are hell bent on going ahead come to phuket to check things out and stay for the low season and then make your decsion ....as most of the old hands have stated...dont do it

If you have no connections to ensure you are covered, your licencing is correct etc and to have powers to keep the mischief makers away, forget it.
If you are to succeed the girls that come to the club are key to the tourist dollars. If you have the wong location or venue, ie there are some club venues that have all of the above but have not worked for those reasons alone. PM me what venue you are being offered out of interest. I can think of 2 or 3 it could be.

There are decent clubs and events. Just low attendance.

But maybe we are reaching critical mass where it all clicks in.

Definitely a troll.Been in the trade myself and family both pubs and clubs hard enough in your own country when you know the language.Thailand NO CHANCE.....
