If it is of the same quality as Bed then it would be a destination.

I think most customers of that place would be happy to have easy parking/drop-off and be able to avoid seedy Bangla.

Bed isn't in the middle of Nana or Patpong but it work. but need that base that will seek it out.

I'm sure there are lots of assumptions.

However from what i understand the management at Jung. Knows they need to make some changes and are taking action. The Bed guys are not new to this. They've been looking around Phuket for at least 2 years that I know of (from talking with the owner 2 years ago), so I would hope they have selected well.

On the surface of it, much better location than Rock Hard. That is way out of the way with only limited street parking.

Keeping it real and not comparing it to some club in London or N.Y.C. then...

Club Lime is good. Sedection second floor works. Had an Ibiza DJ at White Box last night (and tonight I think). Then scattered other things like Catch Club in Surin...haven't checked out Stereo Lab in Surin yet, plus special events. Anyway this is to say they are at least appealing to the club market vs. the sex markets at tai pan or hollywood.

Then something like a bed bar raises the standard again.

Club Lime.... something about it that I just don't like, was there last week for the first time in ages, the Thai girl DJ was on. I lasted two drinks and left... all blips, bleeps and sirens. SHITE!

Yes I went to White Box last night for the Ibiza DJ, had a good night, good music...service not too good though, kept running out of drinks, also they had a large speaker right next to the seats so nobody wanted to sit there (could have had it a bit further back) but I enjoyed it.

It was for the 1st anniversary so its not like that every week!

Not been to Surin yet but I hope to soon.

Nine bar is the best place for me, quality music, excellent venue, but can be quiet sometimes. I think they will start organising more events soon.

Seduction.... not been for a while but I don't rate the place or music highly... is there still only one type of bottled beer?

Its next door to Lims Restaurant in Kalim, Soi 7.

Only open in the evening from around 5pm, most people go for a meal at Lims and then drinks after at Nine. They are both owned by the same person, a Thai artist.

He designed the building, put in his artwork and did all the landscaping.... he also does it for many of the new villas on the island.

Its a bit hit n miss really... some nights very quiet and then others very busy.

They have the decks and often have DJ's on. Some nights I have crawled home as the sun is rising.

I always have a good night there quiet or busy, meet a lot of interesting people there. The restaurant has been there for 10 years so they have a lot of friends and so a usually boring mid week night can turn into a great party!

They will be organising some parties soon so I will PM you with details.

I totally forgot about Nine. Need to check that out.

Could the sound system at White Box be any worse? Then too loud. It is a shame for a nice (but crowded) venue with a top DJ to have such 3rd rate sound system. Left early because if it. The only other problem is it always feels like everyone is waiting for something to happen. Locals have such a high entertainment threshold, they need to do something more. Maybe some tasteful dancers on podiums to help get the ground moving.

Club Lime. You need a group to make it work. I think the biggest problem there is the stairs in the middle. I just chops the place up and creates a weird vibe. they should try to minimize the impact / divide. But I've grown to like the place. But the ratio of girls to guys is way off and sometimes can make you fell like you wandered into the other part of town by mistake.

There are a couple more venues that will be announced/open over the next 3-6 months that should further develop the scene.

Seduction second floor packed last night and jamming. Guest DJ was solid.

Yeah sound system in White Box was naff.... I was sat nearby the speaker so had two spare seats at my table directly in front of the speaker.

All night people would spot the spare seats and ask if they could sit there... "fill yer boots"... was funny to see how quickly they got back up!

I stayed until midnight then went to Nine, met some hot chicks and got invited to a party back at theirs.

I dont see why people go on about Bedsupper Club in BKK, its way overrated in my view.
I went there a couple of months ago with a girl and was not impressed. Had two drinks then left.
