Seems like it's up to everyone. If enough people insist on 500/1000 then the choice will be between them accepting that, or nothing.

If enough people are willing to spend 2000, then that will become the new lt price.

Like I said before, the girl in the bar a few weeks ago said 2K, which dropped to 1K as after she left the bar and we met outside.

1k st and 1,5k lt is the norm and have been for some time, that is my experience. This talk of 500st and 1k lt I dont get at all. (at least not if we are talking about girls who get barfined on a regular basis)

I know people who pay their girls 1k for longtime, problem is, the girls never seem happy about it, one FL I know told me just a week ago or so that if someone pay her 1k (lt) there is no chance she will be going with him again. Just an example.

I think that a girl is more likely to be happy with 1k if you have had a good time in the bar , have bought her several lady drinks and have got on well....

If you just turn up in a bar, see a girl you like and say lets go, i think she would be expecting more .....
I am with the people who do not discuss price beforehand, i just give the girl the money before she is due to leave the next day, that way if a girl has been particularly good of bad you can pay accordingly.....

It's interesting if prices really have doubled, as some say, and the above reply would indicate. But I guess it is still a bargaining situation. You never buy anything at face value in LOS i suppose...

I've said it before...i'm with the cheap charlies, err i mean the sensible ones who try to keep the prices low, any extra to be paid on a performance review. 55555
However i have stuck to my guns and not paid extra for the stunner and regretted it, so it is acceptable on occasions but don't make it the norm.
Hearing about the high prices which seem to be widespread could it not be because of the ever increasing number of newbies who are arriving and don't have the experience to deal with the beauties separating them from their cash?:love3: :

It really is "up to you". I think the consensus is that 1,000 baht should be the going rate for LT. Also just want to clarify what you are saying; you are not saying that you want LT for 500 are you? Cos that is Cheap Charlie territory IMO.
As I've said earlier in this thread, I have paid 2,000 for LT & in hindsight I shouldn't have. Having said that I'm still in contact with that BG by phone & email. Am not her sponsor though 5555

The way its described on this thread, it seems that there is a certain amount of talk and haggling going on concerning the prices. How does that relate to the discussion on the "Agreeing a fee" thread? The consensus there seems to be to avoid talk of money and price, but this thread seems to indicate that this kind of talk is normal?

I am asking because I will be in Patong for the first time in 2 weeks time, and I don't want to come off as an idiot my first night out

It really shouldn't matter what someone else is willing to pay. Shouldn't it be up to you, the customer, as to what you're willing to spend?

Others might be able or willing to pay more or less. That's beside the point. If the accepted amount is 1000, then there's no need to pay more unless you want to, nor should you expect to pay less. It's YOUR holiday, so do what YOU feel is correct.

On the other hand, if 1000 is the accepted amount, why bring it up at all? Don't even ask, and simply give that as a present the next morning, maybe (hopefully) as a gift, not as "payment".

Thailand is a land of contradictions as is the subject of prices on this forum.

Some say set a price before to avoid problems later. Some say don't talk prices and pay what you think is fair the next day.

Some say no more than 1000 for LT some say 2k or 3k.

The way I see it. If you are visiting for a 2 week tour and you have a specific type of woman you want then you really dont have the time to shop around for the perfect girl for the lower price. When you meet a girl that you must have you do the best you can with the fee without ruining the enjoyment of the encounter.

If you're not too picky and go for personality then I think you can be more aloof and seem less desparate. A take it or leave it attitude. This gives you more power in the girls eyes. And then the 1000bht would be fine.

Use the advice on this forum as a guideline. Tweek it to suit your enjoyment. It's your holiday.
