Since last year, I enjoy Soi Eric more than any other Soi. On nights I go out, you'll find me in there for a few hours (less since the early closing).
Now don't flame me, but.
I like the Music!
Most nights the volume is good, but some nights it's too damn loud.

You actually see the dj walking the Soi sometimes. They have dance competitions. Winners get a dress, or top, or something as a prize. I've never approached him, but he appears not to have such an ego as many Thai dj's do. Soi Eric is the whole package. And I think it kicks any other Soi. Music is fine with me. Just change it up a bit more.

I'd say Soi Lion and Soi Croc play the best stuff as far as general Soi music goes. At least its not 20yr old music that gets played night after night like Soi Eric.

I agree with Keld. The DJ is ruining the atmospere in Soi Eric with his rubbish selections.

We've a new bar opened in Kamalalalala (Opened about a week after you left Nels unfortunately) Called.............remarkably...........The Pub! Thai all the way. Thai music, Thai owned, Thai frequented, Thai bands and many, many Thai ladies.

I've been a couple of times now and they have a reasonably long happy hour, two bottles of Chang for 100 Baht.

Good crowd in there and the place now for the BG's after hours. Lets just hope it continues as it is now.

Just look at your left heel, as if you got chewing gum stuck on it, then look at your right heel in the same way while hanging onto a pole and 'Hey Presto!" instant Elvis! All shook up! Try it in the mirror, Nels is doing it right now!

On my last trip i drank every night down soi Eric and can honestly say i havent got a clue what music they played...........i do not visit Los for the music, so as long as the girls like it , i like it !

I love the total Thai style of entertainment...stops me bichin' about this song or that song as with Thai stuff I have no idea....can't stand the sloppy stuf though.....god they hit some notes that dogs wouldn't here when they do the slopy stuff....particularly the blokes!

I have a friend in Karon that owns a bar and their music selection sucked when I was visiting in February. Leaving next week and I have mixed up about 10 hours of CD’s with the latest hits. The internet is great!!! Even mixed a few CD’s labeled “old farts” with memorable titles by the likes Sinatra, Elvis and many others to draw us farangs in for drink. Low season…they need all the help they can get. Someone need to help the DJ in Soi Eric with a few new music titles.

I forget who said this up above "The problem with music is you cant please everyone" but that explains a lot. For each person who is happy about the music, there will probably be someone else who isn't - and vice versa. As I recall, it only got annoying to me when things were so loud I couldn't hear what someone else was saying to me.

It's interesting how different kinds of music can put a person into different moods. I'm guessing this is very different based on where the person is from, or if it's someone who lives in Thailand.

So what music played, would appeal to all or most people in the soi's??? they will have to please a wide age range, have to appeal to the Thai girls, or they will not dance and also not play the same stuff every night or it will become repetative??

So anyone come up with anything other the old 80's/90's hit music???

And do we really go to the soi's to listen to the music?? don't think your trying, if thats the case!!!!

Side note if you have to use the 5 baht toilet don't try to pay with 1000 baht note. They will look at you funny. Tried to buy the 100 baht Soi Eric t-shirt and still was a no go transaction. I instinctively get rid of the baht coins right away
