Last night Bangla main bars (Shipwreck etc) open to 3am and side streets a lot longer.:intello:

Since I will be arriving in just over a week this thread is highest on my radar(I guess being a drunk factors in to this too!: ).
Hopefully things get back to "normal" soon, but since this is effecting all areas that I read about(Patong, BKK, & Pattaya) from farangland I am not to hopeful.

Hope this is over soon for all the Bar owners and patrons.

Barowner in Soi Eric told me tonight from next week bars open till 3am Monday-Thursday and till 4am Fri-Sun.

I really hope this is true as I arrive at the end of May and do enjoy to drink past 2am....: Just hope it all works out - Fingers Crossed lets hope.:yipi:

Lucky for you Trent, buts its this kind of inconsistancy which is gonna cause the biggest problems amongst bar owners... they have to make rules that apply across the board as there is too much money at stake and isn't fair on the bars having to close early.....

I can see a huge amount of bars gonna be for sale at the end of high season, due to early closing, elections every other month, visa issues..... its just not worth the hassle for the farang owned Beer Bars anymore and certainly the fun aspect must have gone months ago IMO

Bangers is getting shut down earlier just now aswell, we were out the other night, bird decided that we would go to a place called Tunnel, says it normally gets going around 2:30/3 oclock, but we will go a bit earlier, so rock up at 1:30, 6 customers and 20 staff, 2am, lights come on, police outside, time to go home:go: .

Places like this will not survive if they continue to close like this, also Hilary bar, which has always closed at 2am as far as i can remember, was closing at 12 the last few days.

It all gets me home a bit earlier which i guess is good for my body.

MWM, I totally agree with you mate. To be honest, I would have no problem with it being a strict 2am closure all the time, I'll just get to work a little earlier and all the tourists would know to start earlier in the day. I have no problem at all with that.

Look like its more strict for bars facing Bangla than inside the sois. Please note this is only for girls dancing, not a rule what to wear for girls in general. Lion bar seems (almost) to be back to their old style.
