Don't worry about it - happened to one of my best friends on his 2nd night out, in MTB of all places. bought the girl drinks, had a great time, BF'ed her so she could come with me and my mrs and some of our friends to rock-city. she then proceeded to go outside to make a call when we got to rock-city, and did a runner! day after that after her BS excuses about her friend getting in trouble or something, he BF'ed her again to take her to the sushi restaurant in the main center... half way through the meal she got a call again, and dumped him half way through their meal!!. Nicke gave him his BF back of course but whats 200b really considering the time wasted, interim money wasted and more importantly affection invested which got rejected by a essentially a h00ker. not a nice feeling i would imagine. btw he is 26, nearly 6ft, very athletic physique and id say 'average' looking face. definatly above average by some of the standards you see roaming around drooling :rules:. i'm just telling you this so you know that it can happen to anyone.

seems to me the only way one could avoid it entirely is to be a hardcore mongerer who sets the record straight with any girl within a few moments of meeting them. so its up to you. but as i like to think, to really taste the sweet you have to taste the bitter - so if i got rejected at the end of a long night, it'll be sweeter the next time when everything runs to plan and the fantasy that you are on a real date with a real girl that likes you seems that little bit more real :love3: thats got to be the real fun of it all, right?

stick to FL btw! no BF's, no LD's, no LD's for other BG's who you are not interested in. plus they have more freedom of choice of who they go with, thus are often better looking. there are negatives too - but i think the pos outweigh the risk

Been there, done that, unfortunately. And in my experience, it happens all too often in Patong. Although I will say that on a couple of the most egregious occasions it happened to me, the bar was reasonable enough to return my BF. But it has never happened to me in Pattaya, and sorry to say, but that is one of the differences between Patong, and Patts, IMHO, as the likelihood of a girl playing that game on you in Patong is far higher.

I disagree with Nicke. If it was just all a friendly mistake, that would be one thing, but a guy knows when a girl is putting the moves on him, loosening him up , and prying the drinks money out of him, with the touchy-feely, huggy-lovey routine, and getting him all worked up for her. To go to that length, just in the interest of making the drinks money, is not fair play, IMHO.

Granted it is a newbie mistake, but, just the same, the management of that bar is really f*cking stupid, since for 500 Baht, they turned away a big spender, and generate some bad publicity for their bar. Even if it was only him telling his friends back home, or gents he should meet while in Patong, about his treatment there, they will lose far over 500 in trade for their poor treatment of him.

Let's face it, when a girl and her bar make you feel as if you've been played, because you were, that is not what we go on holiday to Patong for!

To the newbs out there, let it be a lesson learned. If I have got a notion about a girl, I will ask her after the second drink, if she wants to go with me to my hotel later, before letting it go too far. And always, when asking a girl if she wants to go get eats, go to disco, or elsewhere, before I pay the BF, I will say. "OK, if I pay BF you, then you go to my room later with me for LT, chai mai?

Who wants to spend a good sum on some ass-kissing BG who is fawning all over you, only to experience rejection as the night-capper? Don't we get enough of that in UK/US/Oz/etc? Is that why we come to Patong, to spend our hard-earned cash, so we can be played for our money, and rejected? If that was the case, how many of us would even bother going there more than once?

Spot on.... We "westerners" get confused I know I do and did as it isnt a relationship we are entering into its a financial transaction nothing more. If you want sex have sex if you want to eat then have sex TELL THEM.

I regularly barfined 3/4 of my greedy tgf's mates why ? not to sleep with them just to have a laugh with,I fed them and bought them drinks and even tipped them at the end of the night at no time was there a hint that I would be sleeping with them.
Listen to the advice that bm's give you (not me) the more senior ones who know there stuff. I make mistakes all the time as many will tell you and will continue to do so as I am a fool when it comes to a certain Thai lady but thats my problem and one that I can handle and able to pay for BUT in your case I would def say listen to the members and you cant go far wrong.

At 500 per BF? I used to do the same, BF my girl and two or three of her mates, we all go to a disco, go to eat, have a ball, a moving party. BUT that was when BFs were 200 Baht. 4 or 5 long years ago, 555555.....

Also, this is in now way comparable to the OP's experience. When I BFed my girl's friends or other BGs, who were friends of mine to go eat, go disco, it was understood we were just friends, and they acted accordingly. They did not hang all over me, rubbing up and down on me, touching me, and kissing me, etc. Their actions were appropriate for a "friends only" relationship with me, and not misleading.

in any case OP asked the girl to go eat - she did - should have made it clear before left bar that may then want more?

buying drinks for everyone is just that - may make them more welcoming but doesn't entitle you to anything

about 10 days ago i was in soi lion, walked past this bar & grabbed by a BG to come in , she was cute so went in with her & got a beer, she was very "friendly" we talked for a bit , i got her a drink, talked more , lots kisses , rubbing etc. more drinks for both of us , getting along real well, i asked u want to come back to my room , she said yess , kisses etc, we talked price , all ok , got some more drinks , all was going well, i said we'll have one more drink & go to hotel ,she was happy with that & said ok , it was getting late anyway .
we finished drinks - i get bin to pay for drinks & BF, then BG says "me no go with u i no good down there i have period" - i said "why didnt u say that when i asked if u wanted to come to my room" she just said "sorry"
it wasn't so much the money i wasted on drinks in this bar i was a bit annoyed as i wasted all that time on some one who had no intention from the start, even though she said she would go.
i've been lucky over all these years, its 1st time i've been taken 4 a ride

He did make a newbie mistake. That is not the point of contention. But it does not excuse the behavior of the girl, or the poor treatment of the OP by the bar, which is more to the point, as I see it.


Being just a friendly hostess is one thing, but, as I read it, she was all over him like a wet suit, and that is quite another thing. Inexcusable, IMHO.

Actually... I think he makes an interesting point... most BGs I interrogate (sic) hate their jobs as bar girls... but do it out of necessity... and most have varying degrees of standards... and do not enjoy being in a hotel room with most of the customers they go with... including me (dam it!)... but the common theme is... make money any way they can... while waiting for the winning lottery ticket....
As long as I know they don't really want to be with me I am fine...

Have to agree there. Freelancers are for experienced mongs i think. Try telling the police after you get robbed that she was short cute with dark hair and she said her name was Lek and see how you get on. Most hotels keep their ID cards at reception and I asked that no one leave with their card unless i escorted them out or they rang my room to make sure everything was ok. Better to be safe than sorry. The girls don't see it as disrespectful at all. Just business. If anything goes astray;If the girl is from a bar at least you can identify her and have some recourse. 500 baht is chicken feed for peace of mind.

@bangladiver - yup I did go back to dispute it, but as I said the answer was pretty much as you say... you asked her to eat and you ate, your problem (as he tucks into the food I sent back for him!). Plus I was alone, and it's dark and quiet down there, so I wasn't going to dispute it too heatedly, and just said 'ok, if that's the way you run your bar I not come back, goodbye'.

As JayBee said, it's more about the fact that she'd been hanging all over me for two nights rubbing and kissing, and I'd spent several k in drinks over those 2 nights in a bar that had maybe half a dozen other customers the whole time, even if it was an honest mistake it would have only cost them my 500b back to smooth it over. Buying drinks for others may not entitle me to anything other than perhaps some friendship and respect in return, no?

I now know more, and it won't happen again, just hope the story can help save someone else from the same issues.

As PS said, there are positives to weighed against the negatives. For a newbie, or even a guy with only a few tours under his belt, best to stick to the bars. And even for a guy who is really not so good at sizing up girls, better stick to the bars.

But for an experienced monger, the direct interaction with FLs is sometimes preferable to the sort of mind games you may encounter in a bar, such as the OP describes in this thread. And that is especially true in Patong, where the better looking BGs tend to be quite a bit choosy about who they go with(yet are not shy about running up your bin), especially in high season when the fish are running.

When a girl goes out and you barfine her, she knows she is going to get banged! And that is what she will do! I have barfined many girls, I am not so lucky to be as handsome as your moderator, so it happened, that a girl refused. No problem that is clear too!

And from all these girls, I often do go have dinner with them. I like to get to know the girl a bit, other then in her working environment, and have an intimate moment, just relax, before to shag her.

I can't believe all these experienced BMs who say that when they BF a girl they specifically clarify the purpose, as in 'You go with me for boom boom'. I've never done that, it's always been taken as read. Sure, I've had my share of being ripped off over the years (eg all over you like a rash at the bar but surly when you get them home) but I've never BFd a girl only to be later told that bending mattress coils wasn't part of the bargain. I accept that there may be a try-on for newbs (which they soon discover by talking with you), but it is abundantly clear that the OP was deliberately deceived and ripped off notwithstanding his talk of restaurants.
